I'm getting ready to do mine tomorrow. Good question. 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad. There are 6 bolts under the rear seats. 1 bolt holding down the seat belt near the center.

You develop very strong hands doing this sort of work. You do nice install. Does the heating with steam of the foam to plump it up shrink after cooling?

mattster1971 The steams effect on the foam will vary depending on the seat foam's condition but the foam should keep its refreshed shape even after cooling. When you re-install the foam it will get re-compressed but the steam will have helped to reset its shape for a better and more proper fit.

Why was disconnecting the battery necessary for removal/install of the seats? I understand the "Saftety" aspect but, you're just pulling seats... General rule of thumb is if you're working on anything that makes the vehicle move... I dunno, just seems like a good excuse to loose all your radio presets and waste time.

Hobie16Sailor At 02:35 in the video when he is taking out the battery Tim mentions the airbag system and occupancy detection systems. Throwing those codes can be much more of a hassle to reset than a few radio stations. Also, there might be a chance that the airbags can go off if you unplug the wire harness without disconnecting it from power first. Either way is better to play it safe than sorry.

Daniel Valenzuela I'm not sure I understand. The hog rings are what attach the upholstery to the seat foam. They are required for the installation of the leather upholstery kit.

Our product is a replacement upholstery kit that requires the old material to be removed first. It cannot be slipped over the old cover since it is designed to precisely wrap the factory core seat with a similar attachment style to the original material. There are other products out there that will slip-over your seats, but they will not provide the tailored fit and finish our customers have come to expect of a LeatherSeats.com replacement upholstery kit. This video shows us installing our own product. This video is obviously not in real time, it is many different segments of video footage spliced together to show you as much of the process as possible in as little time as possible. The total install takes approximately 8 hours in real time. I'm not sure where you got $1,000 quote for installation. That's pretty high. I would get quotes from multiple shops. Here in Oklahoma City we do this same installation for roughly $600.00. The Dodge Ram did not come out with Side Impact Airbags in the seats until 2012, but we also make kits that are fully compatible with the factory side impact airbag system. Everything is on a vehicle by vehicle basis, but if you plug your vehicle details in on our website it will confirm wether that particular kit is compatible with side airbags or not. Pedro Torres Ohhhhhh... okay sorry for the misunderstanding. Since you were posting on this video, I thought you were referring to this video. However, you can design an interior kit for your 2011 Dodge Ram on our website that looks similar to the Dodge Ram Rebel. It is a two-tone option called facings. So you would want to select Red or Cardinal w/ Black Facings and White double-stitching to get a similar look.

The only real specialty tools that are REQUIRED for this install are hog-ring pliers and hog-rings. You will need a socket set and other basic tools to remove the seats and disassemble them. There are also other tools that are not required, but can help with installation as well. You can find some of these in the LeatherSeats 101 section of our website.

The basic idea is to simply reverse engineer the uninstalling of the factory covers. If you start the project and feel like its too much to do your self you can always take it into a local automotive upholstery shop for professional installation.

We do have some patterns for the factory leather version of this interior. Many of those came with Sport Buckets so we would need to confirm that. However, to answer your main question, we would need to use high flow foam on the inserts and perforate the leather, but the ventilation and heating elements should be fully functioning with those additions.

+goalie man 20 Seat heaters are typically just sandwiched inbetween the upholstery and the foam. So it does not move at all in 85%-90% of vehicles out there and the upholstery can be swapped out without even messing with the seat heaters. I believe this is the case with Ram trucks as well. I have a question. I have the Dodge Ram with the leather seats. The first thing that went bad was the vinyl sides. It started to separate only after a year and a half. This was not covered under my 2011 warranty. Will these seat covers do the same, and will this be covered by the warranty?

We have a 3 year warranty on our product and if there is any abnormal wear and tear to a portion of the interior then we would cover it under warranty. However, it is important to mention that you will ALWAYS have greater wear on the driver's side bolster of any truck. This is mainly because trucks are tall and to get in and out of the truck; passengers will crush the bolster very heavily. So it is not abnormal to have greater wear on the driver's side of your interior. Anyways, I am not exactly sure what happened with your old interior and the vinyl separating, but that doesn't sound very good. Give one of our team members a call and they would be able to talk to you about any concerns you might have.
