Is it possible to be the female vocalist of a band like this if you're not Victoria Secret model hotness? Not that there's anything wrong with being good looking, and attractiveness sells, but I feel bad for all the countless talented singers who could totally slay but are merely good looking or average rather than giant-breasted, chiseled featured goddesses.

You have a valid point but actually some of the best and most popular female singers in metal bands right now in my opinion are in no way model grade. Some are gorgeous but their overall figure is just average/regular. Of course looks are a matter of personal taste and as such subjective at least to a certain degree.

Their looks might give their bands a few more views on youtube, but the quality of their music and the talent every member on the band has is what keeps them relevant in the symphonic metal genre

Floor Jansen isn't the most attractive woman ever (definitely above average though) yet she is considered the best all-round metal singer so looks aren't the only factor though they do help for clicks.

Sadly many bands use sex to sell and get men to buy the albums. Just look at Epica - The hypocrisy of their lead singer saying she's upset she isn't taken seriously and seen as a sex object when she's taken it further than most just to sell their albums.🙄 So the answer probably is yes. Sadly unless these women have the full package of talent and looks, they'd be ignored. There are exceptions of course - every band member of Edenbridge looks refreshingly normal and they're one of the most consistent in terms of quality within the genre.
