Hello beautiful people! 😊 Hopefully we addressed lots of questions you guys had but we realized we may have not given a straight forward answer to WHY Connor is getting out. So here it is for clarification! One of Connors biggest desires is to be a dad and have a family. Even more so than mine (Brittani). The military has been a great opportunity to learn and grow but he want to be there ALWAYS for our children. Feeling passionless in his job, his desire for wanting kids and the feeling of God calling him out, this led him to leave active duty. However! Connor had been praying about reserves for awhile and thinking this would this be a smart step/transition to take after leaving active duty. He prayed and said he would only join if he was offered the job of FCS in the reserves. It happened! And God showed up! 😊🙌🏼 We trust God has opened this door to continue providing as we awkwardly transition out of active duty. Hopefully this was a little more clear ❤️

This is the same situation/question I ask my husband. He is on his first term and he has a re-enlist bonus, but I tell him do what makes you happy, dont think about the money because we will be fine and have each other. Also good luck to Connor on finding a job! 😁👍

You're 100% right, Brit!!! I'm glad you said "The Lord" sometimes its easy to say, something random happened but God always has our back and opens doors that we didn't even think were possible. It's amazing that that position in the reserves became available. I'll be keeping you guys in my prayers as you grow into these changes. Love you guys.

Connor I hope you have a smooth transition to the reserves. My husband was an active Marine before I met him, and went straight into reserves after his first contract ended. There are still unknowns and changes with the reserves. I guess that is just a given with the military. I love how Samuel always wants to be by both of you during the videos.

Great video, just as a correction it is the Navy Reserve and not "Reserves", reserves is the term for all military branches who have a reserve component. I used to say reserves all the time and then when meeting with a resume coach, he pointed out that a lot of people add that extra "s" at the end when there isn't one. You do get a retirement in the Reserve but you cannot collect it until you are 60 years old. If you have done active duty time or have been on orders for more than 90 days in a fiscal year, those years can be used to subtract from your 60 years base. So for Connor's case, it will be 6 years active duty and he will be eligible to collect his retirement when he is 54 years old. Reserve is completely different than active duty, best of luck and thank you for continuing serving this nation.

With reserves. I would just be careful. I enlisted into the reserves after my active duty of 4 years. I was a 4N0 (medic) and transitioning from active into reserves where the weekends are primarily either training thru the computer or not really having a position to do my job on the weekends. TDYs are fun but access is limited. Reserves was great for transitioning from being on my own and doing my passion to being a mom and having a family. I pray for you guys and I truly believe everything is Gunna workout. It’s possible he is 1 of 1 for his job at the specific unit he may be going to. It just depends. Don’t be afraid to ask to go to the unit to talk to other reservists at your unit.

You should look into a miltech position. I'm not sure how it works for the navy, but my husband was army reserves and qualified for the position. They only accept reservists and it is a federal job so you collect dual retirement. They also hold your position if he deploys, which happened to my husband. After deployment he transferred to agr, but the cool thing is that the miltech job will hold his spot for 5 years if he doesn't renew his contract or doesn't like agr. Definitely something to look into. My husband applied on USA jobs.

that’s the same reason why my husband is getting out he has no passion to do what he’s doing we’re stationed somewhere that he can’t do his actual job. being payed to survive and having that stability is cool, but my husband isn’t passionate about what he’s doing. we find ourselves constantly talking about the future and what he’s going to do and we’ve decided that this is his last tour. and he also is going to see what his beard can do in a year😂

Once you’re Aegis, you’re always Aegis. Even though it’s a running joke, there’s so much truth in that. I’m a SPY tech & I know I can never change my rate (even though I really do love it). But, it’s hard to change.

Whats are you passionate about? I bet is a hard decision due wife will get pregnant eventually and they are gonna want to be together to support her. Don’t feel bad Everybody wants to advance out there the opportunities are smalls now in every industry to advanced it takes long time to get there. It’s hard to quit I bet (with not having an excellent insurance like the military) and if there is a baby coming. I think that u are not gonna like how the nasty workforce is out there and u might want to join back.

Bawoni Tuntun I was thinking if she’s pregnant I would stay in lol. I’m a civilian and have children and it’s very difficult to find a “passionate” job out here lol. It’s not all about what job you love. I will be joining this year.

The FourFam exactly! Now a days is not about what u would love to do as a job. Benefits are a necessity now a days over wages. Everything is a sacrifice. Sucks sometimes u have to leave your family to go to work but hey I prefer my family secure on health insurance than to go on my own as entrepreneur or find a local job that doesn’t give u as good benefits as the military. I hope he stays.
