Do you think the higher level paper one was difficult or not this year?

I think it was so bad and everyone else seems to think it was fine. Normally id get a H4 but id say im at a low H5.

It was whack myself and others seem to think it was 50 50 some very nice questions but others were weird

At first glance there was some very easy questions but when you get into it there were some tricky questions. Root2 proof was nice for those that learned it. How did everyone find the induction?

@@SimpleScienceandMaths I got to the last part of the induction and just ran into a wall. My brain just froze and I couldnt get the LHS = RHS

@@SimpleScienceandMaths Would you say its possible for simultaneous equations to come up p2? They're very common on p1 but weren't on it either. Hoping for it for free marks

This paper 2 wasn’t really like a “traditional” paper 2 there was a lot of circle and line questions which I wasn’t expecting and I forgot about the circle touching the x and y axis but figured it out when I came back to it at the end. Also part (ii) of question 1 confused me a bit but I used the 20P4 formula and think I got it at the end. The question to find the coordinates of P was a tricky one because I got weird fractions as answers but when I subbed the x value into one of the earlier equations I got m/3m + 4 for y. Kind of disappointed a theorem question didn’t come up because I studied for them for ages. Pretty confident I got a H1 still though. Thoughts?

I thought all the questions on p1 and p2 were very easy even the cosine of the cube one.Definetly the easiest paper in the last 10 years

I know all the leaving cert proofs but none of the junior cert proofs. Do you think I'll get away with it given that there's choice this year?

Apparently if financial maths doesn't come up for paper 1, it's nearly guaranteed for paper 2. And probability and statistics isn't to hard, so im going go over that at least. Regardless you have it man

Do you have an example of that question you mentioned about the circle and tangentsn in terms of m?

I don't sorry but this is what you do: use the point outside the circle and the eqn of a line formula y-y1=m(x-x1) sub in your x1 and y1. Then use the perpendicular distance from a point to a line formula from the centre of the circle to the line you just made. It'll be in terms of m at this stage and let it equal to the radius of the circle. Then solve for m and put your answer back into the eqn of the line from earlier. You should get two values for m and thus two equation of lines.
