Doko, I commend your courage and honesty to come out on this open forum and declare your stance on the church, and what influence and non-influence it has made on your journey through life. Our Moanan peoples are one of the most loyal, faithful and loving people on the planet. I'm not taking anything away from any other cultures, but that is my own experience as a Moanan. From the time the missionaries arrived on our homelands to the present, our people have remained loyal to the good message and have remained faithful. That too, is commendable and a testament of our ability as a people to accept a change in ways of thinking about how the world works. I love how your family has accepted your new direction in life and how you have kept your ties to your family. This is how it should be. Your stance on leaving the church will ruminate amongst our peoples for a while to come. Many will be questioning your decisions, both for and against it. I for one support and applaud it. Keep up your good works.

Much love uso. It takes courage to a stand for what is right. Keep studying because your kids will be looking to you for direction and strength. My son is autistic level 3 non- verbal. He continues to remind me what true family love is all about. It has nothing to do with a god or a book of rules with standards and/or expectations. My family reject my questions and believe critical thinking is the devils work. I dont believe in the devil. There is good and evil. The devil just another character in a black book of rules. The journey is long, but if you seek freedom from the conditioning of your past and clarity to make good decisions. - Its worthwhile. Ex-adventist. Faamalosi toko.

But because i hear someone that was cinflicted and battleing with purpose, with direction, wirh wanting live and walk the like they see fit. The way in which you commuicated this, i got! What i also think you mastered so well was to give examples of different religions, of the lifestyles in which oeople life, all of which you described with respect empathy and love. I dont see often, its certainly something i would struggle with. What ever your fiture holds...that is certainly a valuable skill. I saw this had to comment. I went through the same thing 20 years ago. All I can say is you will look back one day and be un-ashamedly proud of yourself. I know first hand where you are going and as the words of Shakespeare will ring true "to thine own self be true". I came from same church and that such a brain wash BUT I have love for the people as they are only doing what they think is right, the problem is the are not "thinking" which is what your saying. It sad truth but my friend be glad you are away from it and I predict you will never fall into that trap again. Which is a lesson for everyone. You will find your way and lead your family like you should do. You are there leader so you have a right to guide them and have there best interest at hand no one else can be more honest with them. Respect. Good job Bro.

Respect to Junior Fa for sharing his journey. I find it good to question why we do what we have been brought up to do, but its so awesome when you find people who are also outside of religion and are more interested in embracing God through His Word.

Religious trauma is defined as “The physical, emotional, or psychological response to religious beliefs, practices, or structures that is experienced by an individual as overwhelming or disruptive and has lasting adverse effects on a person's physical, mental, social, emotional, or spiritual well-being. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (2415 to 2418) teaches us that animals are gifts from God. They are blessed creatures, but they have no immortal soul - only a sensitive soul. Thus, we can use them for different purposes, including for our food.

Jesus was not his given name when he supposedly lived. Jesus is the Greek translation of his name. If you look up the etymology of the name Jesus you will be dumbfounded. Please don't accuse people of being stupid when you yourself have no historical knowledge of your own religion. Do you homework. You're praying to Zeus my friend 💀🤣 to each their own.

“living off on feelings will always lead you down the wrong road.” 🙄 Religious belief is entirely based on feelings. You do what you FEEL God wants you to do. There’s no proof that God exists or that what you’re feeling is from him! Religious people are such hypocrites. Every single one of us navigates life based on our feelings and emotions. But because you think you’re doing what God is telling you to do, somehow you’re better off. Get off your high horse.
