Leaving Sapwuahfik (rough footage)

The day I left Sapwuahfik was just as rainy as the day I arrived. Danny, Dashiro, and Monkey (the dog), helped me take my stuff to the plane, while I filmed the whole trip; and got in a small interview with Danny, who was staying to help with the 8th grade graduation.

Interesting. Really enjoyed it. Loved the natural sounds without any soundtrack. You're a natural documentary film maker! Great voice, camera work. What were you doing there?

I was there to document life on the atoll and the things Danny was doing in his last month before finishing his trip back in Pohnpei. The real reason I was there was because everyone from MAHI International was going to be off island for 2 and a half weeks, and they had nothing for me to do in that time. The main island (Pohnpei) is where I spent most of my time.

Thanks. How long did you stay? What's the best way to get to Pohnpei and Sapwuahfik? Is MAHI International the only access out there? I'm teaching English in Phuket at the moment.

I was there for 5 months during the summer. I got to be there for the end of the job for a lot of volunteer teachers who had spent a year. During the summer, some eye doctors and other volunteers came for a month or two, and when I was leaving, new teachers and hospital staff were coming in to start their years.
