For someone who had my first 18 years of life on that island, I love these vlogs. Thank you!

25:35 right behind your neck is the cafe and tourist centre, it's build so it won't be taking away the sights of Hammerhus. Yeah you took the beautiful seaside trails and not the main entrance. And Bornholm is amazing.

I am so amazed on how much walk Wilfie does at his age... I searched and it seems that those opening on the wall are not windows but loopholes for the soldiers to check the surroundings. Looking forward to the next enchantment! 🤩💖

Wilf started walking at 11 months old and before that he was doing 200 squats a day 😂🤣

The cool cafe at the beginning is actually a visitors centre - has all the history of the place...

Someone else said this. There was literally no signage to show this anywhere we saw 😅

@@livingthelifeportugal Gudhjem and Allinge Sandvig is my favorite towns. Some day you should rent some bikes Maybe when kids are a bit older. There is so many Nice places around Bornholm you dont see by car and its very bike friendly. Family and I have spend Maybe 20 summer vacations on Bornholm. Maybe half of Them biking around Bornholm.

The café is actually a visitor centre (and a café). There you can find a lot of info about the castle in various languages. It's also possible to book guided tours there. It looks like maybe you came in through a side entrance of sorts and didn't see the visitor centre. In any case, that should clearly have been signposted better.

We walked up from the harbour so maybe we missed that. But yeah it wasn't clear it was a visitor center to us! There was definitely some other people disappointed by the signage around the castle as well. We would have loved a guided tour!

As a Dane this route is a shortcut also for Danes, so I use it often, coming from Cph.

Beautiful little island that. Love the ruins too. May I recommend for your future trip back to Sweden to check out the island of Gotland on the southeast coast. It reminds a lot of Bornholm but is substantially larger. It is a summer destination however so don't bother wintertime.

Lots of people have told us about Gotland! It's on our list for next time ♥️

It was built around 1250 so more like 750 odd years old. All information available in English at the visitors center :)
