Nice renovation, in my country we have so many building regulations, this would would not be possible because we need specific insulation, plumbing, heating system, window norms, electrical and building codes, and finally the construction bureau will come with the final inspection and approval.

the bed base should have been slats of timber .. to let air get to the underside of the mattress .... or as you showed , the mattress will develop a mold problem

I've watched a few of these, perhaps it's the editing or perhaps it's a lack of planning but they often seem hap hazard in their approach. It might be traditional but most Chinese people seem to move in to an almost derelict house and start by tidying up the garden, why wouldn't you prioritize the house?

i'm somewhat surprised by incredibly sketchy construction practices, nothing is done to last, nothing is done to what we call minimum standards. i understand that they dont have a home depot around the corner but they've got to have sand or gravel, they always lay brick right in the mud, that's why everything crumbles, a big heavy fence or house will settle and when it does, it cracks.... they dont care, they would have learned by now.

@@dirttdude I live in Thailand, people don't like living in old houses, mortgages are 1-2% cheaper for a new build than for buying an old house, that means loads of empty houses and loads of aggressive wildlife destroying them in a relatively short time. The tradition until very recently was single skinned hardwood timber (teak), built on stilts (trees with the tops saw off) to allow air and flood water under them. Scaffolding is made of bamboo often no ladders, I've seen concrete laid on top of split bamboo rather than rebar to reduce costs. They often pour the concrete in full sun, 36-39°C, it dries too fast then cracks. There's loads of Asian vs themwest difference, so actually not seeing western safety etc isn't a surprise to me. It could be that vegetable gardens are prioritized to get food growing while the house is worked on. It does seem the lovely decorative gardens could wait. Maybe video editing arranges it in that order? I've seen that gardens and plants are important in their homes.

@@jaidee9570 I've also noticed building shortcuts are used and assumed the work and materials are scheduled to fit time and budget limits of the production crew. The fun of these videos for me is admiring the architecture of old houses in another part of the world, the customary layout of kitchen, living spaces and gardens, how furniture and building materials are recycled and how well people work together. To see this aspect of another part of the world is so interesting!

Traditional in Asian countries, sit down toilets are becoming more common, but squatting is one of those things Asians do that most westerners can't. This was actually quite good it had a flush system, out in them country in Thailand they have a dustbin full of water with a jug, you use the jug to pour the water and wash everything away.
