I came down to make this exact same comment. If the snow is deep enough to make ice you can extract water from it. IMO this is much more efficient.

I have about 1400 hours in the game, and when 1.10 came out I came back from taking a break and I'm having so much fun! I'm not a builder, I typically use your ships (mainly the Bolt to start, then work up to the Matterest). This time however, I took everything I like about your builds and built my own CV. Been staying up way too late! Anyway, I have never made it into late game RE because the grind is just too much, and besides, the early game is what is so fun. But this time I'm going to make a real effort. Love the videos as always!

Hi Spanj, You missed one orange container at the bottom. Once you drop down, take the 2nd corridor (the middle path), and it will lead you right to it. I do believe they changed it some. :)

Pendrell was there for me. He just "teleported" after you shot him.

Spanj, you did exactly what you told other to NOT do, instead of following the mission to go after Pendrell you jump in your NightShade to fight, which screwed up the "Major Battle" you would have had... I will not spoil it for those that have not done that part yet... But you royally screwed up what would have been an exciting "Spanj Video" thanks a lot... lol

well, I've not done these missions before so I was not to know what was "supposed" to happen. There was no queue in the game to not get in the ship and fight the drones, I see bombers attacking me, my first instinct is to get my "sitting duck" of a ship off the ground and into the air to fight, I'm sorry that is the logical and sensible thing to do, the mission is therefore flawed and although it might be "epic" it clearly needs to be fixed so going off script doesn't completely F it.

Totally understandable that you got back in the ship and took out the drones after one of them almost destroyed the nightshade earlier. I would have done the same thing. I love your videos! Keep it up.

0:55 I've had that issue with one of my builds, not from the workshop. I saved it with a shield generator, and when I spawned it in survival, the shield was missing :/ I haven't had a change to spawn it in creative to see if it has all it's bits in that mode, but it was very annoying when I discovered the issue right before wanting to do a POI.

mountains in Nigues have ice, easier to get oxygen that way, far faster. Also you are wasting time getting a cap ship or warping to Omnicron, you can teleport there from Nigues if you go to the asteroid field. you can't enter Omnicron with a ship. Found this out the hard way, hope you read this before you bounce the hard way like I did.

Just a note. All the starter missions are available by visiting those starter planets. You don't have to start on the planets to get access to those missions. To collect all 16 pda entries you have to visit all 4 planets. It is worth doing. Also, you lucked out at the end of the Polaris mission. All the drones and bombers would have tore your SV to shreds before you got to Pendrell. I am deeply disappointed it broke on you.

Beginner tip, you can loot drones and corpses with your drone, so you can just stay on your ship and do it. You just can't pick plants open containers. However if you destroy a container and it drops a box, you can loot that box with your drone.

TY and if the drone is out of range I run like 1/2 way then send my drone. The drone goes faster than I can run and has no stamina to run out of. And than when I get the loot I can hit F5 and be instantly 1/2 way back to my ship. Helps when looting more than 1 drone (unless you LIKE reparking your SV(?)). 🤔

I have an HV cargo pod available on the workshop. It comes in handy for when you want to leave your starting planet and need some extra storage to carry your giblets. I made the HV cargo pod as basic as possible but still able to carry a full container controller (32,000 volume).

IF your SV has enough lift, you can dock it to your SV and fly it off planet. The HV cargo pod also has basic thrusters so it "can" navigate in space howbeit very slowly (around 2-3 m/s). This is helpful if you want to situate it on a CV while in space.

you can do all 4 mission queues of the starter moons by using the teleport or your nightshade. It is worth it

Hi Spanj, the SV in the asteroid field has a core set to public so you don't need to build your own core for it jfyi.

especially on nigues you can go to the mineral patches in ground for iron and so on. The surrounding will give you instantly thousands of ice with half a clip for the drill. then make 5 ice to one water container, bingo.

For Buy/Sell, don't look at the Buy or Sell column, just look at the inventory. If they have 0/X, you can only sell to them. If they have 28, and no slash, you can only buy. If they have X/X, you can buy and sell. Easy.

As for the nightshade mine too didnt have the CPU extender but had 8 RCS ? which after doing that science mission the bomber blow the cockpit and the jumpdrive up but gave me the time to remove said RCS's LOL which lines the jumpdrive ( I didnt have the ammo for the bombers ) at least I got to shoot Pendrell LOL because your not meant to take out the bombers. Ive used the hammerhead in many starts its a great ship

Last time I checked Spanj, the "destroyed transporter" had an unclaimed core already inside (perhaps this changed(?)). I liked it so much I restored and BP'd it. It's an ugly brick and I don't think that T4 will ever fly in RE but I like it.

I think one serious weakness this has compared to space engineers, is how you can't add stuff to the ship hot bar. I want a quick button to toggle ship lights/engines/turrets/etc. I've defenitely dove into the deep end, doing the tutorial and then jumping into Reforged Eden. I'm not sure if I should have, but the story missions are much more interesting. The differences is so stark in difficulty, I wish there was an inbetween.

In 1.10 you can now use keyboard shortcuts to toggle signals, so you can no use CTRL+1-9 to toggle whatever you have setup there, such as lights, weapons, engines etc

That guy was there for me, if you shot him he teleport out. Wonder from where he got THAT technology. As there is no instant transport without teleport pad.? So if you use these kind of 'surprise' in a mission, make sure he stand on a pad. Just fyi Eleon.

Hello Spanj, thank you for this series it's been a help. I got Empyrion a couple days ago. I'm legally blind and was wondering if you know of any mod that allows you to either, move the hud down on the screen or change the size? It's hard to see the circular part of the hud. I can read the temperature, that's a help but, it would be nice to see where things are on the planet and not have to open the map all the time. Have a fantastic week.

No way to scale the HUD unfortunatley, would be good accessibility feedback for Eleon though. The only other way I can think is to lower the resolution as much as you can but I am sure you have already thought of that

The nightshade that I got and was talking about from one of your previous video's. That one had something like 10 RCS's in it so that might have been the problem and it also didn't have the t2 cpu extender so I am guessing there was some bug that happened to the version that was on steam.

I started on Akua, i avoided going anywhere near the locals for ages, then when i got some gear i went and found their farm, everybody kept telling me to talk to the chieftain or eldar but he wasn't there, so i went to the place marked as a village, when i got there the entire place disappeared and is now just flat ground in a giant square and their green territory is gone, just the farms there, i was wondering if there's a way to respawn the whole village

Perhaps I am the wrong guy to answer as I play solo and no POIs regenerate, unless I use a console command to tell them to. So it sounds to me like you are on a multiplayer server and that would prolly be an admin only command. If then you ARE the admin, well I apologize. You are above my pay grade.

I happen to have nearly the opposite problem. I can "regenerate" asteroids and base POIs but I can't restore minerals I have mined out of the planet (di does not reveal any id info). If anyone can help regen my solo game minerals I would appreciate it.

it's actually convenient, because then you can farm them over and over again, much more useful for multi-player. The first time I played multiplayer was before that was thing and every structure on the starting planet had a core in it already and all of the ores were dug out. Very short play for me.

@@full8497 Yep, yep and yeah. Uunnnless, you really, really like the POI and want it. I mean if you can't put in a core the game wont even let you BP it, right? So what ya gonna do? Stand there until you have memorized every block and texture? Also, scrapping without a core you lose alot of mats. Maybe not important if you already have your CityShip but in the beginning rng can really hurt. I'm just sayin'.

Sounds like you are playing multiplayer on a server. Unless you are the server owner, you cannot. It's intentional otherwise within a week or two of a server starting there would be no POIs left for anyone joining. Of course if its your own personal server you can disable POI regen in the gameoptions.yaml

I will cover hacking in a future episode but in short you can buy/loot the hacking tools (RNG dependant) and then hack satellites you find around stars, selling the data to info hoarders.
