Considering he has no college education, I think he is doing fine. He is not nor does he claim to be a scientist. I'm surprised he didn't correct the crew for putting scientist on his coat - normally he is adamant about others knowing he isn't a scientist. He's just a guy that loves science and researches everything on his own. Kind of amazing really. Give him a break on pronunciation.
