Sad reading all the comments from people who don’t seem to understand what a journalist’s job is. EDIT: To the folks saying he's just in it for the money: He's giving a percentage of the proceeds from every book sale to victims of police violence. How much have you donated? Also, dude is a journalist. You don't go into journalism to get rich, lol. He went to Duke; he could easily be making bank in a different career if that's what he wanted. Give me a break.

For real. I saw one guy here basically say "if he's lying, what he's doing is messed up. if he's telling the truth, what he's telling is messed up." crazy.
@maxmeier5323 жыл бұрын
there is the suspicion that he cuddled up with the stars and once they were used to him being around they dropped their guard and said and did things that they thought were private and off the record. To me it seems, YOU dont know what journalism is. Journalism needs people of interest to speak off the record with a mutual understanding that things are off the record. Otherwise journalism as we know it is done. Besides, hold your horses "woodward", this is sports journalism. This guy was embedded with rich celebrities, not with the marines in a warzone or somewhere in russia meeting snowden.
@petercramer78233 жыл бұрын
I'll take my news from someone who dispassionately reports the facts, even when it makes people angry. You take yours from someone who, despite telling his subjects that he is writing a book about them, decides to leave stuff out that they might not like because it'll be better for his career and relationships. We'll see who is better informed at the end of the day.

@petercramer78233 жыл бұрын
@AK KD I was making a rhetorical point about journalists and sources, not bragging about how well informed I am. That would be silly; we all watched the same video with the same information. (And anyway Max (whoever he is) is obviously well enough informed to make Bob Woodward and Ed Snowden jokes, so accusing him of being uninformed would have been pretty stupid. Cheers Max, I respect your position and shared interest in protecting journalism even if I disagree with you on the methods and don't really appreciate the all-caps ad hominem attack lol.) I don't even know how to begin to respond to a statement like "where has all that information gotten you?" in the context of a back-and-forth about journalism. You sound like you work at the Ministry of Truth.

He said the thing I’ve been saying for a long time. KD was ready in the bubble. He was ready to play the Olympics that year he said, that would have started before the bubble. I just can’t understand how he can have a team in the playoffs, in the bubble, and leave money on the table. To me that would’ve been no pressure, see if you can steal ring. It shows that winning the championship has becomes a new narrative, that has taken over all the players minds and put on unnecessary pressure on them, with winning meaning even more than they love to just play the game at the highest level.

Superstar players run all teams, NBA would lose more than half its fans if it wasn’t for superstars

@@curtroberts1993 how the hell you gonna find another KD, Kyrie, or Harden? Granted, Harden is aged... but you get what im saying? If you didn't, what im saying is you sound stupid

@@prucker1794 I'm talking about the NBA in general. The comment that the NBA would lose half its fans if there were no superstars makes no sense because if the greatest players now didn't exist we would just think the next best players are the greatest, everyone would be debating Kris Middleton's all time ranking
@prucker17943 жыл бұрын
@@curtroberts1993 that's absurd. Remember years ago when the NFL attempted replacement referees? Referees, not even players... the game became unwatchable. Now, that being said, go to every ymca and hoops park in the world and ensemble the best of what you can find, it'll take so much time for them to learn the chemistry, terminology, conditioning to play 82 plus games a year... you can't just flip a switch and have a WATCHABLE product. Case in point... I'm out on this years playoffs and finals given the lack of star power involved

Thing is look at KD v the Bucks. The organisation puts up with it until they stop performing.

Culture vulture? Wtf you talking about?

This book is going to piss a lot of people off. I love it. Sadly, the NBA just had a scab picked off and this book has given a lot of people ways to poke at the wound. Can’t wait for quotes to be weaponized. ( sarcasm )

Shocking? I mean this was obvious when the team signed a washed DeAndre Jordan, when they fired Atkinson, and when they hired Nash and said they didn't need a coach at all.

You didn't listen. The words "weed heavy seance after Kobe died" wasn't shocking? The nets tried to talk to dead Kobe. That's shocking

TBH, I get high all day long, from right after my 1st cup of coffee, until I go to bed … I’ve never thought about trying/being able to talk to the dead. Also, these are grown men!
