Think of the planning, coordination and investment to send an "on-the-scene" reporter to Colorado from Miami for a weekend to cover a sporting event. Lugotz complained about the atmosphere at Colorado. She said it was less traditional and authentic than other venues. I think her punishment should be to go back to another CU home game, have a plate of Oysters and explain why it is so. Stipulation being she stay for the entirety + actually record the environment she experiences. Perhaps a scale of "authenticity" with several categories should be presented for each future venue. At the moment she’s plateaued at gathering a few crowd shots and calling it a day. Her rush to get rest and fly “home” is understandable but inexcusable. Lugotz is a sports journo with insight and talent that should be encouraged. Her commitment to her own personal growth as a professional will be will bear fruit. She has spoken about the demise of the college rivalries with a semblance of sincerity. The fact that she’s been given the chance to capture a vanishing endangered species she claims to cherish seems to have missed her radar completely. It may boil down to 💘 See hotel room Boulder v Iowa City.
