The last 5 minutes of this is pretty damn powerful. The entire episode is a great example of how two loving friends can work through disappointment, hurt, etc WITHOUT anger, yelling and hate. Dan simply saying "I owe you an apology.." seems like such a simple thing and yet... So many people are incapable of saying those words. Thanks Dan and David. Thank you for this conversation. The previous episodes are important for Men to truly discuss vulnerability. But this episode is important for learning how to communicate, even if the conversation is unpleasant. But still leave knowing you absolutely love them.

Hoping David will see this but probably not- either way I just wanted to say that this was the most relatable thing I've ever heard and it's really nice to know I'm not alone in the things I've been feeling most of my life. Short, bullied, unsure of my emotions and feelings, drawing meaning from songs and movies and feeling like most people just don't understand me. I know a lot of people probably feel this way but simply don't share it, so thank you David for your rare honesty.

Dan completely over estimates the amount of hate and dislike there is for David Samson because his bubble is all Miami. This is a national show and I, like most people outside of Miami, love Samson. I have re-watched this multiple times today, brought this episode up in my therapy session today; I resonate with so much of how David feels, and expresses his feelings in a way that is earnest and forthcoming. His upbringing, his feelings of being alone (which i know completely) not having any feelings, and feeling as if no one accepts him despite his wanting to show he's grounded and not the picture that he's portrayed as. Multiple times I held back a tear because I've felt EXACTLY how David feels or has felt. Thank you David, Thank you Dan. You have helped me in more ways than you can know. 🙏

I can't stand how Dan always introduces Samson this way. It's a slap in the face to the audience and Samson. Yes, we get it Dan. Samson is controversial in South Florida. This is a national show. I can make up my own mind whether I like Samson or not. He can sometimes rub me the wrong way. But, for the most part I think he's great for the show. It doesn't need to be repeated OVER and OVER again. Most of the audience isn't as stupid as you think we are. We don't need it explained it to us every week when Samson is on. We can figure this out on our own.

One of the best South Beach sessions! Exceptionally powerful! People don’t understand that David is an incredible human being. As president of the Marlins, he took the time to call any employee in the organization to wish them a Happy Birthday and take a few minutes to talk. What President of any organization does that? Well, David did! I worked with the Marlins for 4 years and it was very kind and thoughtful to receive that call every year. I love his podcast and what he brings to Meadowlark. What David “did” to Miami is exactly the same thing so many have done in sports and otherwise. It was his job. He did it well. Samson is a great hire and when he said to Dan, “It did not help your cause what went on here the last couple weeks.” That’s the truth that Dan needed to hear. @@georgeparker8198 I guess what Im saying is I don't agree with his apparent opinion that he can be both the co founder and abdicate himself from responsibility of management. Just cause you dont want to do it, doesnt mean you arent accountable. Having a David is a great start to remove yourself from the duties but as management you are responsible to facilitate growth and address business challenges. Part of that (a big part) is managing expectations and influencing perceptions. If Dans goal was to make sure people see David as 'trouble' then mission accomplished... but it hasnt made the Lark run better or more profitably Just business. Nothing personal ;)
@georgeparker8198 Жыл бұрын
@Chris Pitts I think you can if you empower someone like David. On air persona is not the same as your professional title. The shipping container fat shaming Dan or sending him to the penalty box doesn't mean Dan isn't the boss so quote on quote bullying Samson on air doesn't take away from whatever his corporate role is. If he's empowered to do whatever he's empowered to do then Dan can keep his hands clean to a certain extent. Just my opinion. We don't have to agree obviously. Have a good one.
@soze_vanhouten Жыл бұрын
@George Parker amicably agree to disagree... maybe just Malice at the Palace But seriously I think there is a difference in allowing yourself as a leader to be made fun of etc and having control over your domain. I'm all for the fun. But there are times where Dan can't just be a players coach and his unwillingness to be "a boss" hurts his ability to have controlled chaos. He seems to feel he reigns over just chaos which is significantly due to his managerial style
@twobarsfourstars Жыл бұрын
You can’t avoid being the boss Dan, don’t. You can be you and be a good boss, instead of putting it on other people and being susceptible. Kinda funny to hear you walk through handling the Samson intro really professionally, then handling it as his friend, and then saying you’re not good at this. I will say that those first couple of weeks when Dan was on vacation and David was helping out in his absence it was very difficult to listen to at times. I understand that several people in the show do not like him, but it was brutal to listen to because they were validating each other’s dislike, and the way they were treating him. And the whole time he wasn’t even being anti-Miami he was trying to keep the Miami portion to the local hour and trying to as he said, expand the audience beyond Miami. When Dan came back on the show, he also piggybacked on the way of saying that David was ruining the show in his absence, and I found it to be exactly the opposite.
@deriksantos3806 Жыл бұрын
I have always loved the dan lebatard show. David is a great addition with content that’s interesting because he reveals truth from behind the scenes. As for the Marlin hate.. he did a job, had he had a better owner the decision he would be allowed to make would have been different. How hard is that to understand? You do what your boss says at your job. So the fans need to cut him a break. Where else is there that honesty and insider information education on any show . Now if he also has business responsibilities, I think he knows business well enough and is shrewd enough to help the entire medowlark private ship. As for Dan, I also think that this local show and its content has grown into a great vine. Look at how he has put people on and brought them into the environment where they have all not only gotten jobs where they have fun, they grown in exposure, they have in part their own brands (where in employment is that happening) and they all have benefited financially… the trend seems to be continuing. So I imagine maybe the shtick of bullying david is going a bit over board, maybe their are some personal jealousy because he has unique information and experiences beyond fandom of which must people use to state opinions. But surely everyone there must see this is a quality thing. Lebatard I think has shown the integrity to not leave anyone behind, and to let people grow under that neon umbrella in south beach. That deserves credit 👏🏽👏🏽 Long live the show and its personality
