Very sound workout. I'm super impressed by Action Bronson's level of strength and shape. He's a big athlete... Those weights they used are absolutely brutal on the forearms...

I like Pavels minimalist approach to training as well with only training a hinging movement and a pushing movement. I can see how just those basic exercises can train the entire body.

This was a really fun workout, I replaced the windmills for goblet squats and added windmills in the warmup.

Great video as always Greg. I need some advice on getting my next kettlebell. I currently have a 16 kg bell and I am pretty comfortable with it, I've been contemplating getting either double 20s, a single 24 or a kettlebell and a dumbbell set. I would greatly appreciate any advice
@jameswan14954 ай бұрын
@jonsnow761 The 20kg is probably better initially then build up from there- 24kg doesn't sound like much but it's a huge jump, imagine suddenly adding 30% to your back squat or deadlift.
@jonsnow7614 ай бұрын
@@jameswan1495 Thank you. Follow up: should I get double 20s or invest in a dumbbell set as well.
@Mikesullin4 ай бұрын
@@jonsnow761 I think it really depends on your goals, if you want to build overall strength and conditioning I think double 20s is the way to go because you will be able to challenge yourself more with the double front rack squats, double cleans, etc but if you are also interested in some other movements that dumbbells excel at like for curls, lateral raises, flat bench, and so on, then the db set will probably serve you better =)

@@Mikesullin Good advice all around IMO. I agree with the double 20s. Heck, I wish I had a set of double 20s right now.

Great channel! im recovering after a back and hand injury which took a long time to get over and im late 40s and want to start workouts again, since pressure on my spine with deadlift is pretty much out (i feel my own bodyweight is max i feel is safe, ps im a big, heavy guy), i want to do weights for upper body to get back my muscular looks and strength there, pref 3x a week and replace leg excersizes with kettlebells .. does this sound like a good idea, and how would you set up a program like that?
@Voidrunner014 ай бұрын
Action Bronson has come a long way since he first started. I think he's lost over 160 pounds so far, in the roughly 3-4 years since he got serious about it. Really cool to see that whoever got him into kettlebells also gave him a pretty solid technique foundation.

its a great review, thank you! personally i prefer Pavel's method, long rests. i feel it healthier for my body, especially for my age. doing like 10 reps of an exercise and rest, doing another 10 reps and rest and vise versa. then do the same with greater weights. then, after you have done reps with 24 KG (fe) this way, return to 16 KG and try do it without a break like the KB sports guys.

I don’t understand why people get surprised by Joe. His podcast has been talking about effective health and fitness for over a decade. There’s alot of us out there now in our 50s that got into combat sports in the 80s and have been doing all sorts of hybrid or cross training tearing for decades before the general fitness world caught on. We knew what kettlebells were long before Pavel wrote his book.

The full body workouts are fundamentally military workouts. Military workouts prepare the body for combat and survival. Bodybuilding is….. (lengthy pause)….. kinda stupid in my opinion. So many bodybuilders are big but unhealthy and unathletic. Some of them die from heart failure. On the contrary you can find senior gentlemen here on KZbin doing calisthenics and Olympic lifts all day. A lot of them are fitter than some people in their twenties. 🫡
