MJ “Goat” career 1984-1990 Gets back blown out for 6 consecutive seasons getting eliminated in the 1st/2nd rounds by the Celtics and Pistons. 1991- beats an old/washed and demoralized Magic Johnson, and injured James worthy 1992- beats a mid/sorry blazers team of Clyde drexler and Kevin midworth 1993- beats another mid team in Chuck and Kevin midson Quits basketball for 2 years to flop in baseball and was scared to play Hakeem. On top of that bulls still won nearly 60 games and making it to the 2nd round without him. Lebron took 17 win teams to the finals and when he left went back to being sorry franchises in rebuilding mode 1996- again beats a mid team that lacked any depth only Payton and kemp. 1997- toughest team he faced yet too bad at this point Stockton and Malone already old as hell and still held to 6 games 1998- literally rigged by the refs to not call offensive foul on Jordan’s push off Bryon Russell (real Mickey Mouse ring) Quit nba again cause he knew the bulls were falling off and didn’t want to damage his “perfect” legacy just to come back and be sorry playing for the wizards. Lebron pushing 40 still proving himself to be dominant and a top 3 player in the league as of his 20th season

This is the difference between MJ and lebron. MJ is FEARED when it comes to clutch moments, he demands for the ball and you be damn sure he'll make it. Heck.. just look at Ginobli at 2:55, he also got that killer mentality in his eyes. Lebron on the other hand 1:58

Bird is the most under appreciated legend in NBA history. Only true basketball fans understand the beautiful talent of Larry Bird. Your talking about an un athletic 7 footer who could score, shoot, pass just as good as any one player in nba history. His fundamentals were unparallel. Never backed down in the moment and always showed up when his team needed him the most. @kerosun4598
@kerosun4598 5 жыл бұрын
You realize how specific that is? You are talking about within 30 seconds and his team up by exactly two points in all of his Finals appearances? You realize that is just 3 shots, right? A two-pointer against the Spurs in 2013 (made; team won), a 3-pointer against OKC (missed; team won) and a 3-pointer against the Mavs (missed; team won). THat is a ridiculously small sample size of just 3 shots; and he made one of them. For comparison: Kobe, under the same criteria, only took 1 such shot. That was in the Finals against the Nets (made shot, team won). That's in 37 Finals games (LeBron has played in 49). Just pointing out how oddly specific and exclusive your criteria is.
@manan612

@@kerosun4598 He is 0-8 in the NBA Finals on last possession shots in one possession games! That good enough for you?
@kerosun4598
@kerosun4598 5 жыл бұрын
@@manan612: He isn't 0-8. And he's hit free throws which don't count as a "made shot" if he missed the shot that lead to the free throws (like when he hit the Free Throw against the Warriors to make it a 4-point lead; this was the game Kyrie hit the 3-pointer). He also hit a 3 while down 5 with 20 seconds left vs the Spurs. Khawai hit a free throw to make it a 3-point lead and then Allen hit the tying shot. Without LeBron's three, Allen's shot doesn't matter. Your specific statistic doesn't capture these moments. It doesn't show his block on Andre Iguodala. It doesn't show that he scored 16 pts in the 4th quarter vs the Spurs in Game 6 to lead the Heat from down 10 to start the 4th. It doesn't show his back-to-back 41 pt games while down 1-3 and 2-3 vs the Warriors or his triple double (with the aforementioned block and free throw) in Game 7. Let me guess: your "last possession" is by searching for shots in the last 24 seconds of a one-possession game? What if the shot was with his team down or up 4 points in the last 24 seconds? Why is there no meaning to those shots? It's just a very specific, narrow look at his impact in the Finals to try and diminish him. If you put the same metric on Kobe, then you get the same result. Does this mean Kobe was bad in the Finals? Of course not. Stop cherry picking stats to support your anti-LeBron narrative and unreasonable hate for one of the best to ever play the game.
@manan612
@manan612 5 жыл бұрын
@@kerosun4598 I'm just stating facts. I'm not saying that he is not clutch. He's been great and is an all timer. But he's not the ultimate clutch player like some people believe.
@manan612
@manan612 5 жыл бұрын
And yes he's 0-8. He has missed all potential game winning/game tying shots in the finals. In other words, he doesn't have a single game Winning or Game tying shot in the finals. Michael Jordan, for example, is 3/6 on such shots in the finals. If you want a bigger sample size, checkout their overall playoff stats for such shots. Jordan is 9/18 and LeBron is 8/22. I'm raising this statistic because these shots represent the highest level of clutch play. All the key plays you're talking about. The big games. They're there. Can't deny them. But then every great player has had them. So has LeBron. I'm not a LeBron hater. I just don't understand how people elevate him above Jordan in clutch play, when he is clearly inferior.

The largest point for LeBron, however, is the fact that he was ALWAYS the best player on each of his 4 rings. Kobe? 2 fmvps in 5 rings. LeBron has does everything Kobe does, except better. He has adapted his game to stay as lethal as he was in his prime. He has carried horrible teams to the finals (2007 and 2018 Cavs). He beat the greatest regular season team of all time (Warriors), one of the greatest dynasties of all time (Spurs), and took the 2015 Warriors to 6 games as the long all-star. Kobe was averaging 18 ppg in a Finals series letting Shaq do all the work. Ill give you nine players who I can make an argument for being better than Kobe. From what I recall, Lebron has not hit a shot in the last 24 seconds of the NBA finals game Q4 or overtime since... ever. His field goal percentage outside of the 3 feet from the basket in the clutch is like 17% or so. This is why he passes, it is a rational decision for those kind of stats.

Kobe and Jordan don’t have Choke Compilations. They take difficult shots and made it majority of the time. Choking means missing easy open shots.
