they didn't show the elbow because it didn't exist. if you look at the incident in speed 0.25, you can see that Steward's was pushing James with his right hand and James was countering with his left. Steward was low on the post with his hand on James's ab. When the point was made, James tried to shake him off while Stewards put his hand down and his face was right behind it. It ends up James had his back of the hand across Steward face for a very clean back hand slap.
