He's not a pass first player. Amazing point forward. Great passer but guy has led his team in FG attempts on his team every season except Kyrie's last season in Cleveland and even then that's a handful of shots. He's been top 10 in FG attempts in NBA in like 15/16 out of 18 seasons. People make it seem like he has never been a 1st option or doesn't shoot it often. Not including this year since it's only a quarter through. Amazing player. But this pass first argument just isn't true, we aren't talking about Chris Paul, Rondo or someone like that. Yes, and they are all unique with their own specialties, talents and view of the game. Kareem had the skyhook, size, rebounding, IQ, humility and longevity. MJ had speed, athleticism, handles, drives, mid-range shooting, post-up (by far the most underrated aspect of his game), and size (for his position). LeBron has speed, athleticism (not as much anymore), passing, rebounding, post-up, size, drives, IQ, and longevity. Thing is, LeBron's greatness is harder to understand because (a) it is a multiplicative relation between abilities (not additive) and (b) more team-oriented. It all breaks down to how you subjectively view and appreciate the game. It is much easier to understand scoring. It's just a matter of how you prefer to win the game. You want to win with an unstoppable shot from the post? Go Kareem. You want to win with incredible shots from mid-range or circus shots near the rim? Go MJ. You want to win with passing and a little bit of everything? Go LeBron.
