AR is outplaying his contract by a wide margin and he is not worth a max or anywhere close to it. Your right he can't be expected to be our 3rd best player because our 1st best player is in year 22 and our 2nd best player becomes the 9th man on any given night. DK is too raw and that shooting might be a fluke and no one else is a scorer cuz Rui is too inconsistent and the rest of the players are defensive minded or too injured (C Wood) or havent played in 2 years (Vando). I think Rob is quietly in talks with the Brooklyn Nets trying to acquire Cam Johnson. Because the Brooklyn Nets aren't considering any trade unless you are willing to part with at least 2 first round picks. That might be the reason the Lakers brought in Trey Jemsion and why reports have stated that the Lakers are not targeting a big in the trade market. I was one of those Lakers fans who thought the team desperately needed to make a trade. But over the last few weeks, seeing some of the games we’ve lost (like the one against Dallas), I’m not sure if there is a move the Lakers can make, that will turn everything around. And if that is the case, then what’s the point of giving up more assets if it’s not going to make us legitimate title contenders (none of the realistic trade targets I’ve seen connected to the Lakers do that in my opinion). Instead of making any changes to the roster, I’d rather see work done to the front office. We need another eye for talent (like a Jerry West), to help this team navigate future drafts, roster construction, & future big name free agent signings. Otherwise, we’re gonna be in for a long rebuild.

The reason why this team is so inconsistent is because our 3rd best player is very inconsistent. Although his defense is bad, if he consistently have 20pts and 6 assist per game, we are winning a lot of these lost games. LeBron and AD is mostly consistent but they are getting older so that doesn’t help either. Truth is, AR will be inconsistent throughout his career because of his lack of athleticism just like DLO. To be great, you have to be at least average athletic player. AR will have similar career as DLo. AR can’t be our 3rd best player. That is asking too much from AR.
