Correction: (i) Between 19:00 and 22:30, the magnetic field should be pointing out of the screen and not into the screen. This is because the electronic charge is negative. (ii) Between 54:30 and 56:00, I have wrongly put power of 2 on e instead of putting it on \pi. The correct expression has \pi with power of 2 and e with power of 1.
Motion of electrons in a metal subjected to a uniform magnetic field is discussed. Connection between trajectory of an electron in k-space and real-space is obtained. Time period of orbital motion of electron is derived. Finally detailed explanation Shubhniov-de Hass oscillations in properties of a metal with respect to the applied field is presented.
