I don't understand the fuss about Lecrae "changing" his style and using Ty$ in this song. His music before was reaching to communities, churches and congregations. However, this song is the beginning of reaching to all nations. Lecrae is simply stepping out of his comfort zone and is breaking boundaries. Using Ty$ was a great choice and tool to attract those who are in the world instead of just reaching out to the Christian community. Remember, it's not the healthy that need a doctor, but the sick. In the same manner, Jesus didn't come for those who are already saved, but for those who need saving. With this in mind, I applaud Lecrae. Great song.

This song reminds me when I was younger and was so full of sin when God began touching my heart and bringing me to repentance when I would listen to Trinitee, Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, etc.. . Bc of those contemporary gospel artists who were bashed by mature Christians, those artists were the reason I wanted to seek and get to know the Lord as my personal Savior. Yes God used them to touch my heart. At that time I didn't want to listen to traditional gospel bc I was living of the world but when I began to hear contemporary gospel and rap music, their sound of music was familiar which drew my interest which led me to pay attention to the lyrics which led me to Jesus. Stop putting God in a box people. He is more deeper than our understanding. God knows how to draw us near. This song will reach younger people who will turn their life to Christ just as I did. Did half of you guys even listen to the song? People keep saying things like "I wonder if Lecrae is still a Christian" or "I don't see God in this music", but Lecrae blatantly glorifies God in this song. "Won't take that credit, I know where we get it Them blessings be comin' from God above" "Hit the pew, tell God He was first" Notice how he didn't say "I went from rags to riches because I'm self made and worked hard." Who are we to tell someone they can not tell of the blessing God has given them. Ty's blessing may very well be his girlfriend. To many, having someone who understands and is connected to you in a way that no one else is is a blessing, something out of the ordinary. You don't have to know the depth of his relationship with her to verify if it is a blessing of not. God determines than. We cannot judge what only God is meant to judge. Matthew 5:45 says In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. God blessings both the evil and the good it says. Can the evil not tell of whom their blessings come? Are only the good allowed that right? Psalm 34: 3 says O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. Ask yourself, is that for the wicked and the just? Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God. God does not respect any kind of "status" for special treatment. We are all the same at the foot of the cross. Without Jesus we are nothing. Verified with scripture, it is safe to say anyone under the sun, in the land of the living, is able to give thanks for the blessing which flow from above. Instead of reminding people about what Ty has been doing wrong, recognize what he is doing right. Glorifying the Father for one blessing he is easily able to recognize: his girlfriend. We the church (church as the body of Christ, not the building) must be reminded to keep it simple. Don't complicate praise. Love you brother!

Dezi School Hey Dezi, yeah I was thinking the same about Ty but then I began to realize that we're not perfect. Even Jesus sat and ate dinner with sinners and the Pharisees questioned him for that. Yeah maybe Ty's music doesn't fit a Christian community, but the fact that Lecrae allowed a song to be written together creates an opportunity for Ty and his fans even to know how Christian is like. It creates an opportunity for them to know Christ through Lecrae's music. Don't get me wrong of course I'm not attacking you or your comment, just adding more context to it(:
