Lectric XP Trike Unboxing and Initial Thoughts

Never expected this, we decided to purchase the Lectric XP Trike to test it out. Here's how it all comes together.

On this channel we test and review ebikes and accessories. Its our goal to help you find the perfect ebike. When we review an electric bike, we don't simply ride it once and make a video, we ride it for 50-100 miles to get familiar with all it has to offer, then we make a video. But we don't stop there, we will make follow up videos as we continue to ride.

I didnt read comments. I bought this trike. I refused a 12 000 dollar electric wheel chair paid for by medi... my own 1500 dollar purchase was the best purchase i have made in thirty years. I had one small equipment failure and then ...i was astounded by the customer service, the speed, honestly and real people answering the phone blew me away. Great product. Better company! I will be having two people i love getting early Christmas presents in a few months. It's late April 2024. All that was fixed. At least for me. I recommend this amazing way to get around to any old guy like me.

Ordered August 1st. Was told I would get it by August 28th. Well guess what. It got here today at 3:15pm August 7th. Surprise, surprise. It was delivered to my garage which door was up & open. If I would not have checked my E-Mails, I would not have known. Box was damaged on one corner and one side. I have replaced hips and it's hard to bend down and those plastic squeeze locks are hard to get off. I'm watching your video on my big screen TV and will follow step by step your instructions. TY so much for your videos.

Hey, hope your able to get it unpacked. Not too much to do after that. Let me know if its damaged, and also, be sure to clean the rear disk brake before the first ride. Let me know if the disk is oily.

@EbikeReviews yes damage with right back fender. It is bent and pressed against the tire and it's so tight tire will not spin.

Richard, I’ve watched almost all your videos on the Lectric trike. I believe because of your public reviews Lectric payed attention to the shipping issues. Mine arrived almost perfect. Only had to adjust fenders slightly. As for stability, my gravel driveway and hilly terrain were a challenge till I changed to 3 inch tires. Thank you for your reviews.

Just purchased one for my wife 12/15/23 and both rear fenders were pushed in so they still have not fixed the issue. Just a couple of glued carboard blocks behind the rear tires would take care of the issue. They did send out replacement fenders the same day I reported the issue and it took about 15 minutes to repair. Love the product.

Agree, simple adjustments to packaging could go a long way. I wonder how many fenders they have had to send out.

I bought it and my unboxing didn’t go that easily because mine was taped all around the bottom. My baskets were back ordered and came over a month later. Other than that and the front lamp jiggling loose frequently and making a racket, it does ride nicely and the battery lasts a long time. I did buy larger pedals because I have trouble keeping my feet on the pedals. Very happy riding.

I have a 3 level spine fusion and Arachnoiditis. I have to say I have trouble sitting for a length of time. I do have neuropathy and need different pedals but I love it !!!!

I like your reviews! I recently got an XP Trike for my wife. Had a bent right fender. And after 4 miles, started hearing noise from the left side of the axel. It now comes an goes. I've been looking to buy a trike for me. The HJM Trihauler has caught my eye! But, there's not much in the way of reviews on it. I'd love to know your thoughts on that one.

Glad you got it, looking forward to your your thoughts on it, and how you find it compares to the other trikes you tested. I think it would also be interesting to share your wife’s opinion on it. Your shipping box appeared to be in perfect condition. I was appointed that you had fender damage. My box was in such bad shape. I thought the trike would had been terribly damaged inside the box, but it wasn’t and I only had minor fender damage similar to yours.

1. I already watched your video for Lectric Trike and MonCool Trike. I like to ask you whether you can replace the front suspension fork of MonCool on the Lectric Trike. I want to replace MonCool suspension forks on my Lelectric Trike because of my arthritis painful hand on the uneven roads. 2. Can you reply me ? 3. I will order to buy it at MonCool if you recommend to exchange it without any problems especially on the Lectric Trike front disc brakes attachment on the Suspension fork of MonCool.

I don't have hills. Best I can find is a construction site that has dirt piled up :-) . Wish I did have a place to show a hill climb.

Lectric is the only trike I can find that says it'll work for a person my height; 4'10". I mean, that kind of does it. Doesn't matter how much better, faster, cheaper, etc. anything else is, if I can't physically ride it because I'm too short. So this is at the moment the only option I have.

Definitely clean the brake discs with alcohol prior to using the brakes for the first time. Lectric recommends this in one of their videos. There was definitely a small amount of oil on mine. Others have had the same experience as well.

Yeah, too late. I need to order new pads. I cleaned the disk and couldn't believe how much oil came off.

Everyone should know. I bought 2 lectric trikes for me and my wife last July. One of the trikes came with a bent wheel on the back, and the other one had two flat tires. Lectric ebikes sent us a new wheel but I bought new tubes for the tires. Now both bikes have bad rear axle bearings and the bikes are not usable. We have put 117 miles on one trike and 104 miles on the other all neighborhood riding. I sent video of the bearing movement, and noise. they told me I had to pack up the bike in original packing and ship it back 1000 miles just to get it fixed or replaced. I asked for a shop service manual but they refused. These bikes are cheaply made and service is poor. So much for savings.

After changing the P settings to get adequate power it’s not a bad trike, yeah the fenders and chain guard suck but that’s not going to let that me stop from enjoying it. When they sell 7000 units in a few months Lectric must be doing something right.

The Electric trike has a seious defect that could kill a person. The back wheels do not have any flexibility for differences in road height. When the trike crosses road out of level or with part of the side missing, the bike wheel drops down and there is a strong tug on the handle bars steering/pulling the bike off the road in a very serious/ dangerous manner. There is something wrong with the bike geometry and this is built into the bike.

LOL will you please tell my wife LOL... I can't speak for all trikes, I have only tested a few. But, I like the specs of the E-310 the best with one exception. the width is a little more narrow and I don't know if that is going to be a problem or not until I get it sometime next month and test it. I bought one of these bikes the wheelbaring fell out of it after a week it took six months to get a refund they refused to pay for boxing. It cost me $100 to get the bike back to them.

That's just a terrible experience. Thanks for sharing it with us. Some people have had no problems, others have had problems but said Lectric corrected the problem right away. Not sure why they gave you such a difficult time.

It is not a great bike. It’s a great piece of junk. It’s cheaply made, and I am regretting I ever bought one. I finally got my money back after six months.

Its a great bike until it isn't. Many people haven't had any problems. Many have had shipping problems and I have heard of a couple that had problems with the bearings.
