I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much because your explanations are so clear. Unfortunately my professor didn't explain much concepts, so had to search myself to understand them better and these lectures come so in handy to me. Thank you again!

• Heat Transfer rate in two conditional formulations - (I) Steady state : 1. Net accumulation of heat at any instant in time is zero. That means heat transfer is such that as soon as heat in fluxes comes they immediately goes out (Almost in no time or simultaneously) at any unit volume or mass throughout the body. 2. Hence, at any point in the body, its temperature remains unchanged with time though it can be variable or constant with position or space in the body. 3. Temperature is only function of space coordinates or constant but independent of time. 4. Used with approximation & accuracy for heat transfer in large or infinitely large time scale. (II) Unsteady state : 1. There is net accumulation of heat at any instant in time & hence, it stores some heat which gives temperature to change with time. 2. In this situation, net incoming & outgoing heat fluxes are not same. There is some finite delay in balancing these fluxes at any point or volume in time. 3. Here, temperature is function of time also along with space coordinates. 4. Used usually for heat transfer in finite time scales or sometime in large time scales also where temperature change with time is necessary to investigate in depth.

38:32 When he is defining the cross sectional avg temperature, will the numerator be TLdy or just Tdy? Because for what he has written, doesn't match the dimensions with temperature

can anyone plz explain 17:32 ? how he got final value -4/L?
@rubixcubesolve7 жыл бұрын
hey took derivative of-4x^2/L^2 which is -8x/L^2 and plugged in L/2 which gives-4/L

For boundry conditions instead of L/2 L would yield easier results
