I am making my second pass through Dr. Moo's commentary on James, and I think his scholarship is unique in today's history of the Church. I find Dr. Doug to be extremely open to the reality of his finite nature, refusing to be stubbornly correct in regards his opinions. Maybe I see a calm humility despite his evident hard work. Yet, he maintains a steadfastness to hold the Biblical line. And, to add to my high regard of this brother, he genuinely seems to have a living faith, honestly concerned about a God to whom he must give account.

I think his faith was brought to completion in a way that it was manifested to be true , to be complete, not lacking in parts but one that is acceptable and pleasing to God, through the works. Thus faith is completed, perfected by works i.e. makes whole and not lacking
