Thank you for putting these up, Dr. Bill. Last night I prayed for a new way to learn God's word and way and I "accidently" stumbled onto these lectures. The first one was very interesting and enjoyable... talk to you at the end.

he is a fantastic professor. I thought he would have graduated from a ivy league school. I wonder who taught him to teach like that? His thoughts are very organized and his ability to stay on the subject without letting the questions divert him, is uncanny.

Believers are Taught by Holy Spirit, through God's word. As Jesus said that the Comforter would teach us all things.... I'm not undermining his education and preparation, obviously greatly commendable, but there is a spiritual overall guidance and empowering of the Holy Spirit so we can be God's witnesses, (Acts 1:8) and of course his gifts that enable us to be so. In the proffessor's case I love the conviction, assurance, and faith filled teaching that results which resonates with my spirit.

Who says only Ivy League graduates or students can be great? They may be ahead of the line for jobs and social standing due to the Institutional name behind their credits, but true merit lies on the character and nature of the person and how he applies himself during and after his learning, regardless of background. And with God's help many Daniels, Josephs, Esthers, Timothys etc. can rise. I'm not degrading education, secular or religious, just encouraging anyone who wants to learn and serve the Lord.

Matthew 5:19.(CJB) "So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven."

Excellent teaching. I would like the make one comment concerning his mention of the theory of evolution. When most people think of a "theory," they think of it as a guess or something far less than a "fact" or "law." That's not scientists mean when they form a theory. A theory in science is formed as the best explanation for some natural phenomena, given the available evidence we have. The reason it is a theory, as opposed to fact, is to allow for further reevaluation, revision, or even complete discarding in light of new evidence that may become available. Now, I do believe Evolution is a false theory. It seeks to explain the origin of the diversity of life we see today on the earth as a gradual progression from a single common ancestor. According to the theory, all life on earth shares this common ancestor which diversified, through a process of beneficial mutations being preserved through natural selection, into all the diversity of life we see today. Frankly, trying to explain the origin already makes this far more history than empirical science. But, when you analyze it as a scientific theory, there is really falls apart. The level of beneficial mutations necessary to even begin to make this a possible explanation is simply impossible. Never mind the fact that mutations are nothing more than mistakes in the replication of genetic code. They degrade the genome and lead to cancers and other genetic defects. That aside, Dr. Barrick describes the problem of irreducible complexity. Darwin himself states, "If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down." He found no case of that, but we now have a multitude of those exact cases that Darwin gave as a test for his own theory, which actually originated much further back. He got it from his grandfather, Erasmus Darwin. And, we can trace the idea of evolution as far back as even the pagan religions of Jesus' day. Charles Darwin merely attempted to put a "scientific" spin to it. Anyway, for me, the best argument against the theory of Evolution is simply that it fails as empirical science. Contrast that with Creation's claim of all life being created as separate kinds of organisms and only diversifying within their respective kinds. We can easily observe that in nature and conduct all the tests we like. Cats reproduce cats, dogs reproduce dogs, humans reproduce humans, apes reproduce apes, etc. It doesn't matter how much time you give it. Time isn't some magical solution that suddenly makes it possible. While we can certainly see great diversity within different kinds, there are clear boundaries that definitely shouldn't be there if Evolution was the correct understanding of its origin.

Exodus 24:1-11 Complete Jewish Bible "To Moshe [Adonai] said, “Come up to Adonai - you, Aharon, Nadav, Avihu, and seventy of the leaders of Isra’el. Prostrate yourselves at a distance, while Moshe alone approaches Adonai - the others are not to approach, and the people are not to go up with him.” Moshe came and told the people everything Adonai had said, including all the rulings. The people answered with one voice: “We will obey every word Adonai has spoken.” Moshe wrote down all the words of Adonai. He rose early in the morning, built an altar at the base of the mountain and set upright twelve large stones to represent the twelve tribes of Isra’el. He sent the young men of the people of Isra’el to offer burnt offerings and sacrifice peace offerings of oxen to Adonai. Moshe took half of the blood and put it in basins; the other half of the blood he splashed against the altar. Then he took the book of the covenant and read it aloud, so that the people could hear; and they responded, “Everything that Adonai has spoken, we will do and obey.” Moshe took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, “This is the blood of the covenant which Adonai has made with you in accordance with all these words.” Moshe, Aharon, Nadav, Avihu and seventy of the leaders went up; and they saw the God of Isra’el. Under his feet was something like a sapphire stone pavement as clear as the sky itself. He did not reach out his hand against these notables of Isra’el; on the contrary, they saw God, even as they were eating and drinking."

The original autographs were inspired, but not the scribes who copied or translated them. The Septuagint translation from Hebrew to Greek itself proves that errors came into the text. Thus it is probable that the discrepancies came from scribal errors. I often wonder about Paul writing to the Corinthians saying, "Now concerning virgins I have no command of the Lord, but I GIVE AN OPINION as one who by the mercy of the Lord is trustworthy. I think then that this is good in view of the present distress (1 Cor. 7:25-26)." Then Paul concludes chapter 7 by saying, "But in my opinion she is happier if she remains as she is; and I think that I also have the Spirit of God." Here it appears that Paul wrote what he thought in his "opinion" rather than "God breathed" words. Although God inspired the scriptures, it is apparent that there was some human contribution of each writer that was involved when writing it (even in the original autographs). For example, scholars can point to the particular style of writing by each particular writer. The only sensible explanation is that God foreknew and foreordained the human contribution of each individual writer, so even the human style of writing by each writer can be said to be inspired by God.

+Global Impact Ministries Based upon Bill Barrick's words, a portion of 1 Cor. 7 was not "God breathed Scripture." If that is the case, then other parts of scripture could contain human opinions or thoughts. Likewise, Jesus said that Moses allowed divorce because of the hardness of their hearts. Thus Jesus proved that Moses wrote his words rather than God's words. How are we to reconcile the idea that every single scripture from Genesis to Revelation is 100% God breathed when Jesus himself said that Moses allowed divorce because of the peoples hardness of heart? How do we explain this while claiming that "all scripture" is 100% "inspired" (God breathed? I'm going to take this one to prayer ...

I think people don't know how to separate what was intended for doctrine reproof, instruction vs as what was everyday common talk and remedy's. for example, Joshua 1:8 (This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success) Exodus 18:16-18 Moses answered him, “Because the people come to me to seek God’s will. 16 Whenever they have a dispute, it is brought to me, and I decide between the parties and inform them of God’s decrees and instructions.”17 Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. 18 You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves outIn Joshua and in Exodus we noted two set of order, what was from God and what was from men , The wisdom of how the prophet was being instructed by Jethro and how Joshua was being instructed by God . The Law both was instruction but derive from to different author of wisdom. that why I think people don't know how to separate what was intended for doctrine reproof, instruction vs as what was everyday common talk and remedy's. like which Bread is inspired the Manna or Merita bread lol just say it the effects..

Could the individual who Abraham referred to as YHVH been THE ANGEL OF YHWH WHO WAS AUTHORIZED TO APPEAR AND AND SPEAK AS THOUGH HE WERE ELOHIM? Also, when Adam and Eve heard The VOICE OF YHWH walking in The Garden" is actually the first appearance of THE ANGEL WHO LEAD THE PEOPLE OUT OF EGYPT?

2 Tim 3;16,17 2:27 There is no "is" after scripture in the Greek. It may be a misuse of the very scripture used to validate all scripture, because all scripture was not canonized when this was written. If it said all scripture inspired (God breathed) by God only then would humans have authority to decide which books to canonize. Plus in some of Paul's writings he says this is my word and not from the Lord as well as many of the passages attributed to Moses are said not to be from the beginning but because of the hardness of the heart. So only God Breathed Scripture is to be used which does not include every word or sentence in the so called canonical books of the bible. But the rightly divided word of truth gleaned out of the sometimes primitive text that in no way is intended to be understood aside from the cultural of the emerging barbaric society it represents. Am I the only one who finds it peculiar that there are 66 books in the Protestant Cannon ?

+truethinker The original autographs were inspired All scripture, don't change, rather if is, is before or not, it don't change, that fact that scripture is referring to , the Law , prophets, and the Psalm, Matt 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. is what was refer to, so while you may attempt to be contextual he was talking about the benefit of the word of God. Paul's intent was to let Timothy know the nature of what they have received, give by God Paul was a wise man in God to where he was able to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles with must suffering. So he had experiencing which through God's grace teaches him things however we not saying Paul words still want be consider either because Paul had a wisdom that did not come from the world but the heavenly . We see God's word as well as Gods man.. I do understand the difference tho
@truethinker2218 жыл бұрын
Ya the intention was to revere all *scripture. From the use of the word scripture we already have confidence in that. But we must still test words or translations of writings claiming to be Scripture. All scripture inspired (God Breath) is profitable etc. Not intended to be a proof Like the incursions of the verb is in the right place shows. All scripture ( is ) inspired by god. Change the subject which is the profitability of all, not all scripture is inspired . We know that because of the exclusion of many books claiming to be part of the books of the bible.

Isn't a "thought" us actually "speaking" non-verbally to ourselves? Although, undoubtedly all human thoughts are NOT accurate, even with a constant Christ centered focus. This is where the Holy Spirit "comes into play" if you will. Then our thoughts are clarified via God, Prayer, and the Holy Spirit before we speak, wirte them, or "flesh" act them out? Although as humans we often time speak, write, and act/flesh them out outside of the Holy Spirit. Although I have no doubts that none of these human "errors" are within Scripture in ANYWAY. I mean more our current day to day thoughts, Christian literature, and actions. Scripture is flawless, no doubt about it, it is we who sometimes err.

He & the students are Christian. If you already accept the Bible then it’s not unreasonable, especially since this was about what the Bible says about its inspiration. If a church group does a Bible study, you shouldn’t be surprised if you go and everyone believes in it.

Boyd and his body didn't understand the attributes of God. God is all-knowing. If that is not true than God is not God, and I wouldn't want a God like that. However God is Almighty and does know all things. There are plenty of scriptures that indicate that He knows the the big things and the minute things about us. God knows more about us than we know about our own selves.
