Lecture 10 in a series on molecular simulation and statistical mechanics for chemical and materials science engineers. This lecture shows a mathematical trick to manipulate thermodynamic derivatives through the determinant of the Jacobian matrix.
Lectures based on the textbook, Thermodynamics and Introduction to Thermostatistics, Herbert Callen (1985).
