the part about program based branch prediction is funny - heuristic: negative integers are often used as error values

I am still confused about how PC is associated with BTB or GHR and PHT. Can anyone tell me?

You'll use some number of bits from the PC to index an entry in the BTB / PHT. It's like a hash function.
