I had the pleasure if seeing him In San Jose, California. My brother and I drove 7 hrs round trip. It was 1000% worth it! One of the things that struck me the most was how Haggard and frail he looked in real life. He looked like he was just about ready to wither away. The thought occurred that he looked like he was on his death bed. However, it was amazing to see him roar to life once his lecture started picking up pace! He went from a humble lamb to a roaring lion. You could literally feel the energy! It was an experience I will never forget, and hope to repeat!

Jordan Peterson is such a wonderful person that he renews my faith in humanity. It is incomprehensible that there are people out there that have tried to vilify him. He has improved the lives of literally millions of people and even though I've never met the guy, I have a lot of affection for him and care about his welfare. So glad that the medical issues have been resolved. He's not done making the world a better place.
@gyromurphy
@gyromurphy 3 жыл бұрын
They vilify him because he rips them out of their meaningless comfort zones. He calls those out that fight for the degradation of society. "But but i don't want to work on my self...it's too haaaard" Those people that choose to drag everyone down with them instead of make their own lives better. He's a voice of reason....and that's detrimental to their cause. His "pseudo moralistic stance" quote is the one that bites the hardest. It is impossible to hear that and deny it's truth

So I’ve watched several of Dr Peterson’s videos now... I am a father of 3 kids. I’ve been grappling with how and why to instill personal responsibility and help them find meaning in life. He puts into words what I have always thought but been unable to articulate. The further I dig I am in awe of his absolute depth of understanding and brilliant coalesce of society history biology psychology religion even economics. I’m sure he doesn’t read all the comments but I just wanted to say thank you for being the voice of reason in a world that has lost its way and encouraging men like me to be strong and a force for good.

It is a good quote, but it might get misunderstood. Bearing a burden is not the same as renouncing pleasure. Instead the burden that one bears can give meaning to the pleasure we seek, as having pleasure in some regards allows us to bear a larger burden. A teacher who enjoys reaching will be able to go a farther way to teach his students. It is rather pleasure to avoid seeking a burden in life that should be avoided.

@@WoodenHorst I like what you said ,as well as how you said it . " ..the burden that one bears can give meaning to the pleasure we seek." So true! Also, "...as having pleasure...allows us to bear a larger burden." A healthy balance of both "bearing a burden" (giving) and "having pleasure" (receiving) seems to be the mix that most satisfies the human soul.

@@draco8152 A "burden" would be the taking on of a positive role or task within your world. A responsibility. Like that of being a good parent or a teacher, or an engineer, nurse or community leader--pretty much any position you might hold from which you give of yourself, for the benefit of others. A "burden" could be as simple as "one who carries bricks"... say, as to a construction site.

Fearing possibility of losing my Daughter fired up my spirit led me to think that giving up on myself was foolish. It was two-fold. Now almost 2 years later I have kept a very good job with a promising future. But the best part for me is knowing my daughter will be the happy and healthy little one she should be . @Suntower9 I am one person removed from that. I was paid and I worked. But the machines I ran back in the day were in both worlds and they were worked on by mechanics that traveled the world doing maintenance. They (East Block/Soviet and British workers) ran 150 feet per minutes in "the worlds of you pretend to pay us and we pretend to work" and I started when 'our' machines ran 410 feet per minute and in the end I was running 650 feet per minute. I ran competitors out of business. And yes I was responsible for the speed. The more speed and product I generated the more was expected. Solzhenitsyn has a short story on this topic ;-) But then the business and processes changed (and I had left it all behind prior) and those men of those related occupations were scattered to the wind in both worlds.

However, this logic, this simple view of the world must be put into heads of feminists which will never even listen. There’s no way JP will succeed in putting some logic into the brains of feminists and other culture Marxists. You can’t fight cancer by talking nicely to it. Feminism is a cancer. Amputation might help, but there is no surgeon to remove it. The only possible surgeons are women, fighting this cancer. But this is impossible- females never fight other females if this gives them no benefits. Only men do fighting in this civilization, but men can’t fight this (mostly) female cancer. The really useful thing about a Peterson lecture is not just the content of them. He shows his audience his thought processes. How he gets from one position to another based on facts, deduction, logic, and his own personal experience. One might not always agree with all of his conclusions, but he demonstrates to his audience how to think both critically and for oneself as free as possible from political, scientific and religious dogma. While doing so he gives the impression that his lectures are somehow spontaneous, when in fact they are very carefully thought out in every detail, indeed perfected scripted within his head.

Your son is another beacon of potential hope, earning a scholarship and doing everything he can to stay healthy and have a good social life. However, the scholarship won't cover everything and your in default on your mortgage and buried in medical bills. You're at your wits end when the vet tells you, you need to put your dog down to end her suffering. So you do. You've lost your best friend and your biggest anchor. Your wife has grown distant and you start to question why you're even caring for her... hating yourself for doing it. Then, one night, your sons out late and you get a phone call. Jordan i thank u youve helped me profoundly I still have a long way to go as iam addicted to opiates. My Aunt died, this yr from dementia then my dad 3 months ago who was not a great dad , then my cat 2 weeks later. My dad shocked me he was 69 but always looked at what he ate and was never in bad shape. So these events forced me to see mortality and uncertainty maybe tomorrow and there is only now. That past regrets , failure, loneliness etc had weighed me down so much and I was only existing and not living and thats even sadder than death. Therefore I looked into the abyss, darkness I have avoided for most of my life and purged all the weight that was bearing down on me have now made me feel a hell of alot lighter and things appear unequivocally less blurred and dark. Iam glad you've got through your relentless bad luck and that gives me even more hope than when they previously transpired. God bless u and your family 🙏🙏🙏🙏💪💪

Otherwise you can get them in capsules. But if you’re on suboxone already I would be careful taking kratom on top of that since it can become dangerous and lead to respiratory depression. But yes, kratom will still work if you’re on suboxone.
