WARNING: The speed of light does not change when it goes from one medium to another! The propagation of light in a medium with different index of refraction has to be thought as a process in which the atoms/molecules of the substance interact with light for a brief period of time and scatter it. This wave-matter interaction happens very quickly and its different for different materials.

Just wanted to give you a big Thank You. I have been watching your videos; and you have no idea how amazingly helpful having other resources to go to when you are unable to interpret what your professor is saying( and he doesn't consider it part of his job to help you) So seriously Thank You again.

Hello. First of all I would like to thank you. I find the video very helpful. I only have one comet to do. In the last part of the video you mention that the calcite splits a photon in to. That is not what it happens. Instead non polarized light is spited in this two direction you mentioned. But each photon remains in the same state.

I wanted to thank you as well, it was the most helpful and patiently explaining video I could find. Would you be so kind to upload further lessons, like Lecture 16 and 17 ? I have an exam coming up- we are working with Nesse (2000) as well and it perfectly adds to it. Thanks again.
