In equilibrium conditions why gravity forces not considered?
@vrathion1567

If the object is standing on its own, its weight acts downwards due to gravity and an equivalent and opposite force goes from the ground to the object, canceling out the force from its self weight.

you might have got the answer till now. But I am giving it nonetheless so please correct me if I am wrong. I think these forces are those that are experienced by the body like all the forces put on container. If we include weight then it is not the force exerted on the container rather it is force which exerted by the container. Basically we have to include only those forces in FBD which are being exerted on the object and not by the object.

Regarding the Spring-Mass System:- Why did we not consider the weight force of mass M?

Actually the force F is due to the mass M,so it is basically the weight force. u can consider it as F=Mg.

If your doubt is from dynamics then.. The deflection of mass in spring is constant and it's value is (mg / k). K is stiffness Now while writing the equilibrium equation.. this mass will point downward and spring force will point upward... So finally canllled out each other for the gravity term... Hence not considered
