exactly 4 bowlers is 5c4, then when we do 12c7 then team may get a 5th bowler which fails the statement of exactly 4 bowlers.. shouldn't it be 11c7(excluding that one extra bowler)??

Why are you constantly saying n choose r? Its n C r. C stands for combination not choose.

Its preference, She is not wrong. Actually combination itself is in simple sense choosing something from a list or collection. So she's not wrong. Many books have write choose instead of combination when speaking.
