Please tell me we read that , Send gamma ray to formation and we calculate density with gamma scattering or on photoelectric (PE) absorption. And while the other we read Neutron density porosity logging. Am confused is it two different source used for density logging? I mean one we use neutron and other Gamma ray? please clear this

Neutron Logging uses Neutron source equal to H atom . And we have H atom in fluids like Water, oil or gas in only pores or clay bound water. So Neutron logs look into no of hydrogen and ultimately higher hydrogen means higher porosity. So on log display Neutron log give direct porosity , while on density log u compute it.
