Hi I think stator is constructed from hot rolled steel as cold rolled steel is anisotropic which is suitable more in Transformer

Sir at 18:32... How the armature reaction reactance decreases increasing of air gap length.. Sir could plz explain...

Thank you for prompt reply to my previous doubt. Question: At 04:12, in the figure, even though the direction of current is 'dot' for all four conductors, but the flux direction shown by you is downward!. Would it not be towards the right hand side as per FLH rule? Regards.

sir, you explained in open type slot magnetizing current requirement is high and leakage reactance is less. but in synchronous generator magnetizing current is supplied by dc so that is already with constant magnitude. little confused sir!

Practically wedges are placed on armature slots ..so that winding doesn't come out. Do wedge also offers same permeability to flux path sir??

Sir, For open type slots, the voltage drop is less because the leakage reactance(Xl) is less (as the leakage reactance is in series). But in Power System, we learnt, reactive power at receiving end(Qr) is inversely proportional to synchronous reactance (Xs). Now, if leakage reactance(Xl) is less, then synchronous reactance(Xs) is less, then Qr is high. We know, major cause of voltage drop is reactive power. So, as Qr is high, voltage drop will be high. So, the above two conclusions are contradictory
