Just wow. Best lecture on toxidromes thus far. So detailed and easy to understand. Of course I kept rewinding to write notes down😀 so it took me like 2hours instead of about 27 minutes 😂. But I enjooooyyyeed the lecture. Great for medical students like me💗

Lovely content but on Cholinergic toxidrome we would have two receptors... Muscarinic which is parasympathetic and it aligns with what you have said, but on the Nicotinic receptors affecting especially the sympathetic N. S presentation would be different e. g these patients would have tachycardia and mydriasis.

Hi! I have an assignment given by my lecturer to find out about the types of autonomic nervous system poisoning and I was really confused. Does ANS poisoning depending on the effect (parasympathetic and sympathetic) or is it depending on the mechanism of the toxin? (anticholinergic, cholinergic etc)
@dominic24464 жыл бұрын
im not sure what you mean by "depending" as it is a vague term, but diagnosis is dependent on symptoms/toxidromes.

I hope someone can help me. My sister took multiple medicines and up until now she's still suffering from chest pain with pain scale of 8 and difficulty in breathing, its been 3 days from the day we rushed her to the ER(we discharged her because the hospital told us that she will be roomed with Covid positive patients even though she's doesn't have covid.) We rushed her again earlier this evening because she said her head hurts and she puked, her chest pain is on 9 scale, and having difficulty in breathing. As much as we want her to be admitted the problem is here in our country majority of hospitals doesnt accept patients easily and the hospital where we rushed her doesny have toxicology department(im not sure if my terminology is right). I just wanna know what to do, what tests should be done? Her blood test came normal and when she was in ER her vitals are normal. Drugs ingested: 2 pcs Paracetamol 10 pcs Aluminum Hydroxide 2 pcs Dexketoprofen trometamol 5 pcs Centrum Silver Advanced I am worried sick and I just wanna knos what to do so if I went to the hospital I know what to say to the doctors, when we rushed her earlier the doctor just told us that its just heart burn and after checking the lab resutl(blood) let us went home. Please help me I just wanna know what to do..

I really appreciate your Group . Dr Elon Saks and I are no stranger to the ER, yet, a voice such as yours is not Justice Sotomayor imitating Professor Saks laugh , which several in this community feels is???? A ER is kind of like a homeless shelter a big room with cots .
