bro, oru doubt regarding gear shifting. If we approach a speedbreaker, how should we shift down the gears? way before reaching the speedbreaker (which causes big sound while shifting. like Takku Takku), or should we shift the gears down when the vehicle speed drops to nearly 10 or something like that? I personally feel like once the bike stops, it is better, but I have seen people shifting way before reaching the speedbreaker and pressing full clutch and shift gears. Which method is correct?

Bro proper technique apdi alam ethum kedayaathu...Bike oda speed ku etha geara kodukanum thats all, thats the trick here...I will explain.... Imagine i am riding the bike in 5 gear in a speed of 60-70kmph...i see a speed breaker before me, so what should I do is, I have to mentally read and calculate the speed of the bike in which it going and how tall or sharp the speed breaker is.. 1) if the speed breaker is tall or sharp, ofc you can't run that speed breaker on 5th gear in that speed you are in, so you should down two gears first, parallely you should stop giving the throttle and apply the brakes too...now you will come to 3gear now, you speed will be also decreased when you come near the speed breaker, .... The time when you hit the speed breaker, you should again feel if the speed for the 3rd gear is enough or not...if it's enough you can cross the speed breaker on 3rd gear itself, if still the speed or bike's pull goes down more before hitting the speed breaker, again do an other down shift to 2nd gear ... I have a 6 speed bike, whenever i see a speed breaker, i personally gear down three gears to 3rd gear, when on 6th gear and two gears down to 3rd gear if i am on 5th gear... If you enter the speed breaker on 3rd gear it is quite manageable, if you have enough speed and engine pull you can cross it with 3rd gear itself or if you feeel still more pull is needed you can shift a one more gear down to 2nd gear...thats the trick, always read the speed of the bike and the Engine's pull and give the gears accordingly... You should not jam all the gears down all at once once you reach the speed breaker....you should gear down gradually...one by one...by the time you touch the speed breaker you should in 3rd gear or 2nd gear, as per the speed and as per the engine's pull to cross the speed breaker... If you jam down all the gears at once, you clutch plate would be gone very soon on a longer run and bike would stall and causes that Tikk till sound you were telling.. Gear shifting is like an art bro...drive panna panna you will learn gradually... And whenever you shift down gears you always have to engage full clutch, so when you are in correct speed on correct gear, let the bike cross the speed breaker, during that you have to hold clutch fully, if you leave the clutch on the way bike will stall, After coming out of speed breaker leave the clutch slowly and accelerate...full clutch engage is needed whenever you down shift... shifting in half clutch will wear down your clutch plate... Always read the road and engine's speed and pull, when you beginning to ride the bike in initial days.. aporam ungaluke palagirum automatically, you will start playing with gears and clutch smoothly, once you learn the trick...
