Regarding Stairway, Plant said in an interview that he doesn’t hate it, but it’s a powerful song that belongs to a particular time, coming from the mind of a 23-year-old. He said that if he wrote some of the music he would have felt it more personally, but his job was to ‘write the lyrics and sing’, so he doesn’t feel the connection as much as the other three or a listener.

He's given many answers over the past years as to why he hates it. From how the meaning has been twisted and changed that it was no longer what he had intended it to be when he wrote the lyrics to that the song belongs to a different time to that he thought they had better songs to he was sick of it.

Livin lovin maid is part two heartbreaker & a great song on its own. Maybe cuz it’s harder to play than whole & breaker. Otherwise, he should have made sure the two songs were separated . Now when u hear a boxed set or something & heartbreaker isn’t immediately followed by “with a purple…. It really chaps my azzzz” it’s like playing the ballad part of free bird then shutting it off when the tide begins a shifting & it gets epic. All except the ballad part. As there is zero part of heartbreaker or living lovin that’s anything near ballady, actually heartbreaker has the greatest solo in history & well you just never want the party to stop. And he doesn’t wish to be remembered for that song in particular, as he thinks he’s penned much better lyrics later in life. He wishes to be known for the lyrics to Kashmir, and much of his solo work. His personality is such that the idea of being so close,y defined by one song is anathema to him.
