I graduated in ‘88 and we kept the flame burning. Today is another story. It’s so radically different now, a different vibe. People are meaner and there is much less optimism. I know it’s cliche, but I’m very grateful to have experienced life back then.

Led Zep - They revamped this tune like no one else could, from an old late 1920’s country folk tune by The Memphis Minnie) about the devastating great Mississippi floods that misplaced thousands of farmers from their homes, forcing folks to relocate. Led Zep - The hottest and widest array of rock - rock-blues tunes of all time. It’s amazing that these talented 4 crossed paths while hitting separate clubs back in the day and when they were so young is astounding!!! The drummer (John Bohnham) is arguably the best drummer of all time - (played in black jazz and blues clubs, which is how he met up with singer Robert Plant). Bohnham was one of the first rock drummers to play triple beats to the average of one beat in rock and was a LEGEND. Jimmy Page is four years older and arguably the top 3 lead guitarists of all time. Jimmy was in the Yard Birds, which broke up - Thank God! - Jimmy sought out the top musicians to reform a better band and best singer and was introduced to Plant - who insisted he also bring in drummer Bohnham. Plant has been argued as one the top rock vocalists of all time. (I say he’s # ☝️...😉)Thus Led Zep was formed. 🎊🎉🎈Robert Plant & John Bonham we’re only 19 YEARS OLD when the group hit the big time on that first album!!! You gotta see them playing live during their hiatus. ROCK GODS. Highly recommend The Song Remains The Same / The Rain Song - Madison Square Gardens NY. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Thank you. 💕🙌🏼

Robert Plant's the singer, he's now 71 years old and still been touring recently. My favourite of his solo albums (his 7th) is called 'Dreamland' and was released in 2002. I'm not a fan of his early solo material of the 1980's, as the production sounds of that era have dated it quite a lot, I think he was trying out different things and trying to distance himself a bit from the Zepp years. He did a great collaboration before that, in 1994, with his old Zepp guitarist mate Jimmy Page, and they made an album called 'No quarter,' which reworked a lot of Led Zeppelin tracks with a more acoustic feel, and a scattering of new tracks thrown in.

The only reason i'd ever listen to Zeppelin was for 2 reasons, the great drummer, and John Paul's bass playing! Without this rhythm section, Zeppelin goes no where! Page never did anything for me as a guitarist. How he's considered one o fthe so called greats is beyond me....I think it's only because as a band he gets the kudo's....... Now to me the best British guitarist was Jeff Beck! He was the most creative and innovative! Then Eric Clapton. Remember Page went to the Yardbirds to play BASS...because Clapton and Beck were the guitar players!
@dickslinger7979
@dickslinger7979 4 жыл бұрын
Bryan S. Clapton is clean but he’s boring. He’s a blues master , yet he never wrote a song that’s close to Since I’ve Been Loving You. Beck is great and innovative and technically superior , but in the end neither of them create better music than Page. It’s all about the finished product. Page is much mor diverse than Clapton and Beck.
