Yeah, i would say so. There was kind of a fusion between genres that was unique to late 60´s, entire 70's and early 80´s. Eventually styles were created to categorize those subtle differences in a broad music genre, and imo Creativity lost something.

Yep, and the 70's were an amazing time to be growing up. What an era to be a young rocker! I was 14 at the time of this performance, and Led Zeppelin became a huge part of the soundtrack of my life, and still is! Yeah, that's Jimmy playing with his theremin, hehe!

The middle part with the strange noises was guitarist Jimmy Page playing a theremin. A theremin is an aerial-type instrument that creates other worldly sounds by moving your hand around it and controlling the pitch with a dial. Led Zeppelin was primarily a hard rock/heavy blues band but they played a variety of styles.

You are right. This is 1970s, but only just. It was a 1970 concert.😊 To answer your question, I was in existence in the late 60s and 1970s and I feel that in terms of music I won the national lottery. Don't get me wrong, there was bad music then and there is good music now. But in those days you did not have to try very hard to find very good music and the internet was not very available back then to assist you in your quest.

2:43 Rock and roll and metal *WERE* the best in the 70's. . Everything was NEW. . . Every WEEK some new band or some new record would come out and everybody would go. . . "WTF is THAT!!! WOW! I've NEVER heard *_ANYTHING_* like THAT in my entire life! And they were right. . Everything was new and fresh and raw and incredible (in the true sense of the word. . meaning, you couldn't believe what you were hearing/seeing)

@@shree397 "mordern metal" .... Never heard that one and I've been a fan since the release of their first LP. It was always blues/rock and heavy metal. The peak years of psychedelic rock were the mid 60's to1969. I'm not buying that Zeppelin had any psychedelic in them considering so much of their covers were remakes of early blues and delta blues.

In my own personal opinion girl, next to the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Chicago and Grand Funk Railroad were the very best "ROCK N' ROLL GROUPS EVER". Even better than the Beatles. December 9th is Jimmy Page's, also known as the guitar player, birthday. His Mommy gave him that sweater vest for his birthday. His mother is half Chinese. The MSG concert was bigger but I don't think so... I prefer this one because Plant's voice sounds much better. And his singing is a huge component of what makes this song special to me. From 1973 onwards he did not sound as good as this in live performances unfortunately but in this concert his voice was totally there... You can see how gifted of a rock vocalist he really was at his peak.

The Faces were cool but not in Zeppelins league. Zeppelin also ruled the stadiums of the 1970s. Biggest band in the world. Record concert attendances and the most number one albums in that decade.
