Chrisette Michele is the real deal. I would say she is the Nancy Wilson for this generation. Singing that's bar none. Both of tthose women use their voices as an instrument and we are loving it!!!!

Whoa there now. On second thought, you are spot on. HH really could get there naturally. But now the kind of it had to be Prince. He ran the range like water.

The main difference is that HH can go from tenor to falsetto...and back...in the same syllable...with vibrato :-) Eric can probably do that too, but he usually waits until the next syllable or word. Prince is in a whole different league, because he has a baritone speaking voice and range. Eric's speaking voice is tenor (sounds just like Robert Townsend, the film maker when he talks). Personally, I prefer Eric's tenor voice because that's when his vocal and note choice chops are "scary good"...like Christina Aguilera on "Candyman".

On the female side of it, the lows of Lalah Hathaway covering Angela Winbush's "Angel", I would nut all in her so hard my vasectomy would reverse itself and get both of us pregnant. My Bad, Renee and Angela did a diff Angel, Laylah was a cover of Anita B's. I had just joined the Army and came out of basic when Anita's song hit. Laylah did a live show with Winbush its here on the Tube, some concert footage. She also did Anita's with her at Anita's concert a couple of times, where Anita introduced Laylah blew the roof off and doors off the hinges. Even Anita was humbled, awesome, but in awe at the same time.
