I didn't like Ben that much for a while until I actually rewatched how he died here. Like considering the fact that everyone here is between their 20s and 60s maybe or 8 and 10, you kinda forget that people Bens age exist. Like I think of alot of us as teenagers who were dropped into this situation would probably be just as terrified. Honestly Ben was a pretty good character, he was weak and useless at times but he kinda grew on me.

Magnus Sheck Jane hung herself later because she was pregnant, and she abandoned Clem and left her alone with AJ. I do understand it was because she didn’t want the baby to weigh her and Clem down, but STILL. Kenny did all that he could to keep Clem and AJ safe up until the end: leaving her at Wellington or dying in the car crash.

I actually picked Jane too, I actually really liked her, thought she was badass (up until this point, I was shocked that she faked AJ's death, which was completely f'd up)... and I actually loved Kenny more too, esp. as a character from the start. But she wasn't wrong about Kenny either, remembering that he drove all the other characters to sneak away middle of the night because he became more authoritarian and violent (though it was screwed up they took everything, esp. from Clem)... that spoke volumes to me, that by this point, literally only Clementine could get along with him. So I saw it as a tale of tragedy to his own downfall. I wish that choice didn't have to be made though, or that Clem could have intervened in a non-fatal way instead; for me, I think this was hands-down the hardest choice to have to make in the entire 4 seasons, because they were my two favorite characters in Season 2.

That's the thing. If we as a species have anything going for us, it's that we are adaptable. Sure the uncoordinated, fat, old, unathletic side of the population would see a fair bit of culling but when it gets back down to survival, or eradicating a threat, I doubt society would break down to the point that it has in the Walking Dead. The society that emerges would be a brutal, survival focused one but it isn't like the empires of old never had the odd disaster to contend with. There were definitely ways to give more control to the player without making the options broadcast "save them" or "kill them," it just would've taken a lot more thought to allow the player room for adapting and hopefully adapting well enough to save most characters (and a ton of accounting for alternate versions in each game). Not that there should be no scripted deaths (I'm not even saying it has to be this adaptable at all, just musing), but lots of things could make it so technically you can save everyone - or most - if you make the right choices. A general example is Until Dawn. You can save everybody. But some choices are a coin toss and people make a choice that leads to certain death that had no way of being predicted. There's ways to make death out of your hands without death also being unavoidable in almost every instance. In TWD games, once a character is able to die, it's nearly guaranteed that they will, whether or not you save them in that moment. That's more a matter of locked in story than mirroring the unpredictable nature of death. Plus, if done right, the player knowing they feasibly can save more makes every death hit harder because it's entirely a result of their actions, whether or not they could've possibly foreseen the outcome.

I was a bit surprised too but it was kind of a redemption moment for him. And on the train he’ll talk about feeling guilty about Shawn dying and says something about “no way I could let another mans son die and mine survives.” It can be correlated to why he saved Ben, among other reasons, cuz after the argument with him, letting him die without even trying to save him (Like with Shawn, though it’s justified bc he was saving his kid) would have haunted him too. And after the argument, he feels less resentment towards him, and more sympathy. He may not like him but he at that point didn’t think the kid deserved to die

I had always hated that this was how Ben died. He wasn’t the brightest or the best at surviving but he was always willing to help and had good intentions when it came to the group even when it ended up hurting them in the end. He was a kid who stepped up when it counted but was still had a kid’s mindset.

Couldn’t they just carry the whole balcony piece off to the side behind the gate and lock it? The walkers then couldn’t get them. Then they’d have more time to yank Ben off. But this scene is honestly really meaningful as Kenny in his “last moment” sticks up for someone that’s his not his own family, staying with Ben till the end.

​@@mariesummers.Here's basically what you missed if you let Ben die at Crawford: • Kenny yells at Christa and Omid in the yard instead of Ben (since he's dead). • Any dialogue about Ben in the attic is not there. • Everyone makes it to the outskirts of Savanah. • Kenny accidentally made Lee drop the walkie talkie in a building, to which Christa drops down to get it. But the problem is that she can't reach up high enough to be saved. • Kenny jumps down there to boost Christa up and fight off the walkers. You go across the same building after this scene in the video and see that it's already filled with walkers.

Well i think this kenny's "Sacrifice" route is better than saving christa. Because of this reasons: 1. In this route kenny tries to save a person instead of a radio. 2. Kenny reconciles with ben. 3. At least lee can confirm he's "Gone" instead of doubting.
