My grandparents got married at 18 and 20 in 1954. They would have been married 67 years this year, my Poppa passed away 5 years ago. Lived in the same house their entire marriage, and my grams still lives there. Marriage and love goals right there!

The problem is more and more people are searching for love in the superficial, while fewer and fewer people search for it in the existential. It's easy to find someone who's good with the physical nature or has money or makes you laugh, and in a world filled with instant gratification fewer people care to take the time necessary to search for what they rightfully deserve as a person.

Back in the early 1900’s my great grandpa worked on the local railroad transporting copper and he made 50 a month ( we have an official letter stating it a few times) he had his. First son at 65 and my grandpa then went on to have 6 kids both my grandpa and great grandpa worked there butts off and you could see the years of hard work in there hands and faces they paved the road for us they both showed me to that hard work and love and prayers will get you far in life with your partner .... I love this song

I met my husband at 16! We dated 3 months long distance to the day! Then on June 10th , (I was 17 and he was 18) we got married! He made $200 a week. We didn't have a vehicle. We got had our first son 10 1/2 months later! I almost died during childhood birth to our son. I stayed in ICU for a week! Let's fast forward 4 yrs later.. I had our youngest son on my 22nd Birthday! Three weeks later , my husband's job landed us in SC! After the job was over and our oldest getting ready to start school the next fall; we decided to stay and build our new life there! Eight hours perpendicular away from BOTH sides of our family's! Within five yrs, my husband started his own Tile and Marble business on Hilton Head, SC and became one of the BEST "small" Tile and Marble companies on Hilton Head! Until the economy fell, we had a great life! But, we lost it all. We stayed together! This June 10th, it will be our 31 Anniversary! I've loved this song since I first heard it! All his family told us, we'd NEVER make it! We've outlasted BOTH of our parents marriages, all of our siblings marriages and his Mom's other 6 marriages over the 30 yrs we've been married! I call her the "Real Blanche Devereux " Lol

My papa was 21. My momo was 16. They married. Bought their first house for 10k. 2 bedroom. 1 bath. And they brought 5 kids home there. And loved fiercely until she was 58 and went home to God. He just turned 90. And still loves her like she was here.

This song always reminds me of one time my family went out for my grandparents’ anniversary. When the waitress came up and asked what special occasion brought 17 people to that restaurant, my grandmother said it was their 50th anniversary. The waitress exclaimed, “TO THE SAME MAN?!” Of course my grandmother said yes and the waitress said, “Oh, we need to go get some drinks!” My grandma is gone, but my grandfather and all of us still think of her. Especially me whenever I see the tattoo I got in her memory.

Problem with today, songs like these get overlooked because people want to ruined the charts and radio with rap and hip hop. When you have a rap song on the charts for like 50 weeks? It hurts artists like Lee Brice and them. We do need to get the music chartsand radio back to normal like before the 1980s because this song would have hit the number 1 spot on the Hot 100 Billboard chart.

Six ain't nothing, billy. My mom's parents had 13 kids. Dora, Alfred, Jimmy, Faye, Nelda, Lucille, Mary, Cecil, Bertha, Betty, Richard, Joe, and Dwight. They were married for 62 years. And $67 a week back then was a lot of money.

If you liked this song, look up Lees song called Boy... It’s now very hard for me and my husband to listen to because our son died in 2018 at age 20 and these things that Lee sings about in this song remind us of all the years we were gifted but now all the years we lost. It’s a great song for fathers and sons. ♥️
