I am Yaya to my Only Granddaughter. She loves calling me Yaya. I heard a boyfriend of a friend of my daughters when she was young was named Yaya! And just adored that name. When I found out Yaya was for a Grandmother in Greek...I knew right then what I would be called!! My Soninlaw found this song. I had totally forgotten it existed, but remembered immediately!!! Now my Granddaughter loves hearing it to!!! Yaya forever, my favorite thing! Thank you Lee Dorsey wherever you are!

Notice two things: Back then, all the girls would clap left hand over right hand and then right over left. Also, the girl at 1:15 is much cuter than the girl sitting next to him on his left. My 2nd term of my 1st year at "party school" (aka College!); right before I went into the Service and Vietnam. Props to Lee Dorsey... P.S. In case you're interested: La La stands for Louisiana and Ya Ya stands for his GF (girl friend)
