LEE DRESSER & HEMSBY HOUSE BAND Finale + El Camino Real HEMSBY 49 Oct 2012

Filmed by Ruthie at Hemsby 49 weekender www.hemsbyrocknroll.co.uk 6th October 2012. Lee Dresser who came over from Moberly Missouri USA, only just met his English backing musicians 'The Hemsby House Band'. Paul Gaskin on guitar, Rob Tyler on drums, Mark Sprex on double bass and Rockin Little Richard Barwell on keyboards. They only had time for one rehearsal which you can also find on my KZbin PONYTAILRUTH video channel. Lee Dresser's most well known song in the UK is El Camino Real, a real cult floor filler. Hemsby Stage compare Kav Kavanagh loaned 3 of his guitars to Lee Dresser. Lee used Kav's Gretsch G6120EC on stage. Kav's Vintage VSA850 was used for rehearsals and his Ibanez Semi as backup.

I did my bit. Turning El Camino into the big hit it became again by getting loads of DJs to play it at record hops. I played it all year long and the crowd loved it. It was a massive hit again and the success of the tune got Lee Dresser back on the main Europe festivals for the first time. Just one hit did that, El Camino. I never met him, I wish I had done....

@@killerdillr yes. Nobody was playing this prior to me pushing it and giving copies to people in UK and at Viva Las Vegas. It took off around 2009...

Lee had a great voice, he never seemed to be imitating anyone, just sounding like himself. And I like the dancer, great moves!
