Yep. the producer of the show itself also just said that while jimin is a great singer, Hayi has the "it" factor that makes her a real star. he has also talked about hayi's charismatic stage presence and unique voice going as far as to say that even though Jimin won the final, that does not mean that jimin will be more successful than hayi in the future.

Just heard that Lee Hi and Katie Kim are going to do a collaboration stage for the next episode of Kpop Star. Really looking forward to it! Lee Hi (Kpop Star Season 1) and Katie Kim (Season 4) both covered this song, but the versions are quite different. Lee Hi was doing a cover of the Fugees version (which is why there was a guy in the background saying random things). Katie Kim did her own interpretation of the Lori Lieberman original. So they were essentially singing different songs to a large extent. I like both. Lee Hi has stronger, richer lower notes and Katie seems to have stronger high notes, so I'm guessing their harmonies will be quite good. I was thinking they are about the same age, but was surprised to find out that Katie is 3 years older than Lee Hi.

+Rolf Senmark I saw their Mama Do performance and ironically, I liked Hayi's performance with Cathy Young more. Their harmonies sound better than Hayi-Katie, especially on the climax of the song. Hayi and Katie have similar tones but Hayi has more texture to her voice. I like Katie's voice though and I'm anticipating her debut.

u do realize shes only 15 years old and has admitted to having never been in a relationship with a boy before. so its not surprise that it would be harder for her to express the lyrics visually. Jimin has sung love songs before and also failed to put any feel in the songs. when she sang Good Bye Baby Goodbye with hayi she kept smiling when she was suppose to look angry and arrogant. like YG said, those kids are too young to be able to fully express such mature songs easily

I read on a site somewhere, that maybe it was a business decision on JYP's end. Jimin gets to choose the company she wants to sign with and the other companies have no choice but to respect that. If Lee Hayi were to get contacted by two companies, for example YG and JYP, she can also choose which companies she wants to sign with but the difference with that is if she wanted to sign with YG, JYP can try to convince her to go with him. If she was the winner, he couldn't do that. You get it? :)

yes but u realize that YG and JYP are extremely close friends. they have had to exchange many of their prev trainees before so it wont be difficult for JYP to make some sort of arrangement with YG behind the scenes to make sure that YG doesnt offer HaYi a contract. YG himself admitted to having discussed the contestants' future labels with JYP and SM before the live shows began, and said that they have come to some sot of arrangement about which contestant the 3 labels are interested in.

ji min isnt pop shes def r&b too me, hayi is soul in the beginning when ji min was singing songs like irreplaceable and yolanda adams during the training they kept telling her to not sing songs that made her sound like a grown woman -_- while what she sounded like was someone who likes r&b and sings in that style also jyp told her dont full out sing til the ends of the song too really wow ppl,, which caused her to hold back on songs and not sing in the tone she was more comfortable with

You're trying way too hard to find something negative to say. Her breathing was very good. Her singing was very good. If not for the "one time, two time" guy in the background, this would have been absolutely perfect. It's no accident that in both of the song pairings in this final episode, the SBS tvpot showed both of Hi's songs as being the most popular in terms of views, likes and comments.

Clearly you don't understand the marketing strategy behind it. Yes Lee Hayi being an "idol member" seem to be a waste but economically it's better. Her debut through a group is going to guarantee at least some sort of success. After SUPEARLS have made their stable mark in the KPOP INDUSTRY, slowly and surely will YG grant them solo projects. That's how it works. Financially it's not worth the risk to push her as a solo artist.

@ Sunny Min -- I don't think Lee Hi added the "uh" and "yeah" parts. That was probably a decision by the producers. She just focused on her singing, which was great. This was a cover of the Fugees' version of KMS (not the Roberta Flack version). The Fugees had a guy doing the "uh" and "yeah" and "one time, two times," so the producers just put it in this cover version too. But I agree. I just wanted to hear her singing only and the sound of the guy speaking those lines was just a distraction that didn't add anything to the song. I think she would have gotten an even higher score if they had left that part out.

I had this song in my phone and I wanted to know who the singer is. I search the song in You Tube and listen to it but it's not the same song that I'm listening to coz Fugees sang it. The song was written in collaboration with Lori Lieberman, who recorded the song in late 1971. It was a number-one hit in 1973 for Roberta Flack. The song has since been covered by numerous artists.and one of the first cover is by the Fugees , covered the song on their 1996 album The Score, with Lauryn Hill singing the lead vocals.
