1:02 can we just take a second to acknowledge how lovely it feels to see Trevor make the extra effort of saying “Minari” in Korean as well as acknowledging its more-used “Americanized” counterpart? A lot of what is coming up in the current conversation is how impactful it is to respect the culture and language of things we might not be as familiar with. It’s such a tiny detail, but it speaks on how much Trevor cares about this stuff, especially as the only non-white multi-cultural late night host around. Thank you 🙏🏼

Trevor Noah speaks about 8 languages so it's not too surprising that he made that effort, but yes, it is so appreciated.

Yes! It takes little to no effort to pronounce a name or word correctly for a few minutes but most talk show hosts/interviewers won't go through that minimal effort. But then again Trevor has an incredibly interesting story of his own and is an immigrant himself so I think he has a unique perspective towards people's respective cultures (yet another reason why diversity in entertainment is such a plus).

Minari is such an intimate, yet universal story for immigrants and their families. As someone who moved to Norway 7 years ago from India... It REALLY spoke to me. I could see myself and my family in the Yi family. It's such a beautiful film

Minari spoke to me in a way I never thought an American movie would. Thank you Lee Isaac Chung for this gift, you deserve all the awards :)

That's why no one understands me in Korea when I visit my relatives. American accented Korean is basically inaudible.

This is what happens when you create something from the heart and being genuine and authentic. It resonates beyond language barrier and it becomes human story that anyone can relate to. I loved this movie..

5:40 Thank you for bringing that up!🙂 I have not watched the movie yet. Waiting to be on Netflix. 😉 But watching it on trailer seems a beautiful story. I feel like Asian movies, dramas and music is growing and big in US. Being recognized for global awards. It is incredible to witness this.. On my behalf thank you for loving us. And we love you back. Please let's understand each other instead using this 🤛🏽on random people.

The more we can learn about each other the more people learn how alike we are. Its kinda sad that we have to learn that, or I guess we unlearn the bias we were raised with, children don't care how alike or different we are till someone tells them.

I'll be waiting for this to be online. It's bad enough moving countries in europe, but for people from a totally different culture, somewhat similar to the refugees we get here, must be a nightmare. My husband workes with the red cross, and for a couple of years, looked after a refugee camp. The stories he told were devastating.

I understand that not everyone would know this but most of these show hosts who are working remotely are used to having an entire team of people directing and helping them get through a segment. Since the crew/producers/staff can't be in Trevor's house, he's most likely receiving messages throughout this interview.

wow trevi another great clip (LOL) but how is your 11,000 sq mansion in LA. since moving out of NY maybe this is the reason why you miss this little piece of news. Tuesday, Cuomo giving $15,600 to undocumented immigrants workers. (well in case you don't know, undocumented immigrants workers doesn't have permission to work in the United States or is a citizen) i was born here and pay my taxes each year and i didn't get a 1/4 of that. Cuomo said the state wanted to show 'compassion' to undocumented workers. wow, Cuomo is very compassionate with 2.1 billion of all the hard working NY tax payers money. wow, you are a human rights activist and made 100 million while living here in NY. why are you not saying a word about this.
