LEE tells the story of Lee Miller (Winslet), American photographer. Determined to document the truth of the Nazi regime, and in spite of the odds stacked against female correspondents, Lee captured some of the most important images of World War II, for which she paid an enormous personal price.
LEE is the directorial debut from acclaimed cinematographer Ellen Kuras (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Betrayal).
Starring Academy Award Winner Kate Winslet as American photographer Lee Miller, Andy Samberg playing Life Magazine photographer David E. Scherman; Alexander Skarsgård playing English Surrealist painter, photographer, poet and biographer Roland Penrose; Marion Cotillard playing Solange D’Ayen, the fashion director of French Vogue and close friend of Miller’s; Josh O’Connor playing Tony, a young journalist and Andrea Riseborough playing British Vogue Editor Audrey Withers.
Additional cast members include Noemie playing Nusch Eluard; Arinzé Kene playing Major Jonesy; Vincent Colombe playing Paul Eluard; Patrick Mille playing Jean D’Ayen; Samuel Barnett playing Cecil Beaton and Zita Hanrot playing Ady Fidelin.

@markdaly1903 sometimes low budget movies are the best movies. Big budget doesn't necessarily mean great quality. Some of the absolute worst films ever made had massive budgets. With all the talent involved here, I'm very optimistic about this film.

I agree , unless it’s a silly comedy most good comedies are basically dramas , actors are serious in their roles it’s just the writing that is clever and funny. Sometimes I think comedy is harder to for an actor, cause everyone goes through drama in real life so actors know what that’s like, not everyone is funny though.

Incredible story and one long overdue to be told. Raped at age 7 and infected with gonorrhea. How's that for a start in life? Overcomes that trauma and gets discovered by Conde Nast himself and made Vogue model. Paris in the late 20s as she becomes Man Ray's muse. War photographer. Bathes in Hitlers bathtub in Munich after soiling his bathmat with the mud of Dachau on her boots. Small wonder the poor woman became a raging alcoholic in later life. An incredible life. Kate is the perfect actress to portray her.

Rosamund Pike is in a movie called _"A Private War"_ about, Marie Colvin, another Combat Correspondent - who got killed. There are a lot of these people who got Killed. Ernie Pyle got killed. Bernard Fall got killed. Bill Genaust got killed. Richard Tregaskis got a plate put in his skull. And those are just the ones I know about ... If you've seen the Flag Raising On Iwo Jima - there's the still photograph taken by Rosenthal - and - there is a movie taken by Bill Genaust. So - when you are watching that movie of the Flag going up - you are seeing it through Bill Genaust's eyes. He's still on the Island. He got killed in a cave, they collapsed the entrance so the Japanese couldn't get out - that way - and they were never able to find it again. They tried. They tried several times - but they could never find that cave again. So - he's still there. You can look up all those people on Wikipedia. All of them and/or their work - is very well known. .
