Lee is amazing 👍

I like that when he channels Wes, he uses Wes's signature thumb-only action. When I heard other songs from this album on the radio I thought it sounded like he was doing that, and now I see that he is.

Saw Lee at the Jazz Cafe in London, in 2005/6, he was excellent. Alex Acuna on drums, Will Lee on bass.

Ive been a Lee Ritenour fan since the 80's but I have to ask, how the heck does he get that sweet sound out of a Marshall? Or is it just there for show? LOL
@guitarelaxed5 ай бұрын
Right of the Marshall there seems to be a Fender Twin and on the left there´s a Mesa Roadking. I think he´s playing stereo.

I thought I heard Wes Montgomery in Lee, and now he mentions him!

Lee had a long career full of creativity and method. Nothing comes without a strong will and work. I love Larry Carlton, Dan Parks, Paul Jackson jr, Hiram Bullock, Steve Lukater and so on but Lee did something more than them. Maybe only Chuck Loeb did a career with a similar commitment and a large kind of experiences.

"Captain Fingers" is the best! He does that octave thing better than anyone other than the master himself, Wes Montgomery.

The drums don't always sound right on this. Maybe it's the mixing

If you are talking about timing - I think you are right. There's another recent video and there are definitely timing issues on that and, to a lesser extent, on the second one I've posted. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4C9YYyipp6phdU kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGWmYmCYhaljhsU

Doesn't stay in the "pocket". Sounds like he gets bored. "Oh, it's OK, daddy won't fire me."
@kjwilkguitar8 ай бұрын
I'm feeling that too. The pocket's not relaxed.

Used to be king of the hill in the 80's now sounds very mediocre compared to the kids of today.

Mediocre….are you sure, he’s still one of the most respected players amongst all the players.
@bridgetgidget144611 ай бұрын
@@MrDallman Well yeah hes a legacy guy. Fusion has advanced by leaps and bounds though in the past ten years. There are guys out there just killing it. In this song I heard a lot of cliche blues licks that have been done to death.

Mediocre??? What a ridiculous thing to say Lee is a great player sounds like you are one of those people that listen with their eyes.

How many of these young guys will be around and still playing in 50 years time and still playing as well as Lee can?
