The 2013 bow season was quite the challenge for Lee. He brought it down to the wire before finally punching his tag on the Big 9!

I’ve been hunting 30 years and I’ve never had 15-20 deer, 5-6 bucks just milling around in front of me. I’d love to have an opportunity to hunt land like that. I have to hunt areas of public land, it would take years to catch that many different animals on a trail camera over time.

I feel ya. I've been at this since 72 hunting Michigan public lands. A few seasons ago my friend invited me to hunt a 200 acre lease in Illinois and I accepted. I didn't care for it much. The deer literally ran around like rats, and were the dumbest critters I ever hunted.

Strongly agreed.... you can't eat the rack.... and mature bucks don't taste so well... you put these guys on public pressured land and you would see them cry. Realistic hunters see deer from a distance not eating right in front of them in a field choosing which one you want to shoot. We shoot what comes in range to put good venison in our freezers. I laugh at these videos all the time.... but they are fun to watch.

Man thats a really risky shot when you are using a Mechanical like that-If anyone can hit that shot it's you but man if it hits any Bone at all you won't kill the deer and Penetration is so bad you will Never get a Pass Through even when it doesn't hit bone like in this video-After 12 Years and losing 2 Giants due to the Terrible Rage Broadheads that I defended using for years I had to Quit using them-You will Never have a Pass Through no matter the Poundage on Big Bucks, If the Broadhead hits Any Bone you wont kill the Buck & If the Broadhead hits even the Smallest Branch or Twig you wont kill the Buck bc it opens up immediately- The Positives about Rage are if it doesn't hit Any Bones even with a Non Pass Through you will kill the Buck, won't run pass 70 yards very often so short blood trails & the Blood Trails are huge

I have never used a mechanical. Started with Bear heads back in 1964. Always some form of fixed, maybe with small bleeder blades. Now it's the Magnus heads. Not saying they all died within a 100 yards or less but those fixed just work. I lost a doe several years ago by hitting her dead center? in the shoulder bone apparently. If you can't get those " big ol' fixed" heads to fly with your field points- well?????

For the love of all things holy …….don’t hunt anywhere close to their property, and god forbid a deer leaves their place and travels on to some other property. Hahaha

Just fyi kids or adults getting into bow hunting. Hunting isn't typically like this, what i mean is don't go into a season expecting the area you hunt to be perfect like this and deer managed like this. Don't expect to see a 150 point+ deer , if you do the odds of you being disappointed is very high and you will give up. Remember shows like this have properties that are deer managed to the T and have a lot of money backing them for most of the top equipment and all the time they need. Stick to the basics and fundamentals of hunting(wind, cold fronts, funnels and enjoy the outdoors). This is a nice deer , but don't expect hunting to be like this. This is one issue i wish hunting show would address way more, explain before every show how the operation works and if they are doing a paid guided hunt. We are losing young hunters at a alarming rate for the past 15 years, and i honestly blame hunting shows for a big part of it. The show i Really like was Solo Hunters, they explain everything and hunt 90% on public lands by themselves. Too bad its not on anymore.

I agree..... hunting used to be about going into the woods to enjoy nature and a deer was just a bonus.... now it's all commercialized trying to sell products that half the time you don't need or even works.... actual facts aren't being stated as well on hunts... I agree with you. Can't set your standards too high if your hunting pressured public land .... my boyfriend specifically hunts public land and enjoys it alot although he does have private land to hunt as well. He doesn't feed into all this bull crap.... still has the same basic set up....a bow, tree stand, bino's, and range finder and still tags a nice buck every year on public land. You put these guys up on public pressured land and they would cry.
