I love LI. Starting an escalation league at the flgs tomorrow night. Me and a friend used the Turn System and orders system for a game of 40k it was great. One thing i do love is having games on large tables 6x4 or 8x4 you can have proper grand strategy with sweeping armoured columns, defense lines, separate hills, woodlands become seriously important as they block LoS or let your infantry really dig in. deep strike operations etc become desperate objective grabs

Great video. Called out GW for what it is and loved the shout outs for other channels. I’d recommend (1) 8x missile squad per 1,000 point game. Ignores cover on the missiles means garrisoned units don’t get the -2 penalty to hit and don’t get the cover save. Nuke an infantry unit a turn. I’d recommend breaking the assault marines off the core tactical units to allow the assault marines to move the full speed into combat. Heavy bolters with point defense are awesome if you can maneuver them well. They destroy all the scary melee units from Solar Auxilary, so make sure to position your vehicles well. Warlord titans with the apocalypse missile launches can one shot some buildings with heavy barrage, arm guns can be whatever tickles your fancy.

Nice, some great battlefield data, thanks mate. I literally shoved those assault marines into the core detachment as I had a few spare points, but like the idea of a big squad for clearing out buildings. Eventually want to paint up some Legio Krytos titans so being able to one shot a building feels like a good fit for them! 🤙

Great video. I’m still building terrain, painting up resin order tokens and titans, and getting ready for when I can actually get enough miniatures to be able to get an army together! In the meantime, I’m playing with my 6mm collection of old epic stuff.

Great to listen to someone else as excited as I am about the game… we’ve got a group going as part of London Wargaming Guild now and hope to put on some narrative events in future as everyone builds up their stuff. Atm people playing 1k games but we’ll slowly build up. Full 3k seems like it might be too big for events though? It takes a while to play (albeit we’re new). More musings and LI content would be most welcome in future!

I have to agree. Noone kills a great fan base as quickly as GW!! I've had to 3d print my entire force of marines and IG I'd love to get ahold of some great plastic models, but no go here in Nebraska. Oh well, 3d printing goes on!! Edit : Your OCD is completely understandable!

It's just been such a mess with the launch and the absolutely disastrous availability - or lack thereof - of anything other than basic infantry. I was really excited in the lead up to last summer but GWs mismanagement of this line just killed any momentum. I went back playing Alpha Strike/Battletech instead. And Litbashing is a great little channel that got me at least motivated enough to build the few Auxilia forces I already managed to get hold of :)

Nice video. LI has 2 big things going against it. 1st is GW having too many things going on and can't keep up with demand. Every game they make has important shit out of stock. 2nd is the price. If you look at the cost of a 3k pt army it is $800-$1k which is insane for the scale. The initial wave of stuff sold well but I have my doubts it will be selling well a year from now when people realize how much they are going to spend for a 'standard' sized army. Having played a whopping 1 game my critique for your list is: Drop the plasma weapons, the designer must hate plasma because every plasma weapon in the game is just shit. Swap those plasma supports for missile supports. Use assault marines for your storm eagles, you can kick them out of the back w/o stopping. Terminators are close combat monsters, use them. A bit game-y but having a terminator in your tac squad gives them all implacable. Get more infantry, you need it for objective holding and they are hard to dig out of buildings.

The game is excellent, the GW support sucks. Fortunately the support from cults3D is excellent, search Galactic Crusaders. The printed models are better than the plastics
