The first big engine Nova/Corsa A I did used the 1.8 injection 8v Astra engine. Then used the 2l 8v units. I got the airbox from the the Nova GSI to fit and keep it looking factory. The Courtney modified Bilstien Sprint kit is excellent for fast road and club motorsport. An excellent choice for this car. So I could use the factory 2l alloy engine mount brackets I dropped the offside engine mount bracket 25mm on the offside chassis leg (if my memory is right). And machined my own rear engine amount spacers. Driveshafts from Martin Tinker in Bedale. You can get very useful improvements copying the mods in the Motorsport Manual DTV did, to reduce dive under braking and improve traction. Incredible attention to detail in this build. And some really nice touches. Great to see these cars still appreciated.

To fit in with the comments I knew a boy who had one ..he gave me a lift home from Kwik-Save ...sounded awesome with the 40s roaring. Problem was my mate had a series 1 with an Ahmed Bayoo 195 chip .. Then I got a ride in a lotus Carlton when I was taking the money at the gate at a football club.. Novas just were not interesting and a bit slow unless a valver. Now , I'd take any 80s hot hatch and be grateful for the smells and sound... They were the days a car could give it the beans and you knew what it was from the sound out your bedroom window!! Love that Nova / Corsa ( Corsa is just wrong ) and wish it a healthy life

I had a 1.3sr B reg with brown dash and the brown check interior, went straight down the scrappy and changed it for a black carpet and bucket seats😝.Took me right back love that interior, great job 👍🏻

My first car was a J plate 1.4 Nova SRI white with the black bottom parts along the door, speedlines, lowered a few mods and I thought I was the dogs balls with it back when I was 18, that red nova is absolutely stunning and a testament to the owner, the wheel choice is epic, he should be proud of himself, it’s perfect . Such a cool car and clean build. These really were great little hatches. Back in the day you pick up a Nova for nothing and go to a scrap yard and find a 2.0 and other bits from any other vauxhall and you had a fast car for sod all. Not the case anymore... Rare as. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Lovely car and a great idea to build it oem. You can see the pride and passion on the owners face and the enthusiasm in his voice 👍👍 I'm a confirmed vw man but can appreciate other stuff, I've got a friend who really knows his cars, hes a huge Vauxhall fan, and he was telling me that although everyone presumes that the direction to go with a nova is to go 16v red top, the actual best option for these is the 8v unit (from an astra?). Well done on a great build mate 👍👍

Bought mine in 2000 from a mate for £100. Mechanically mostly decent but it needed a few new panels and a respray. Sold it 18 months later for £1200. Happy days.

I had a GTE nova 1990, with a 2.0 8v on the 1.6 gearbox, great funa Also before that car a older nova SR with a 1.8 8v on the 1.3 gearbox

My old gsi was fantastic, 15 inch immolas, full scorpion, induction and a racing cam👌. Brakes and suspension were next. Then the rust took it from me...

this make me realise that cars from the 80s and 90s were the best cars ever especially the old opel cars . nowdays most cars are boring and ugly that is why i have a mk3 astra f GT three door hatch and not a boring hybrid ygky thing that they are trying to call a car. i mean look how beautiful that corsa looks it is brilliant
