its hard to imagine today just how humiliated Man Utd were to lose this title. The press and media had been eulagising all season how it was Manchester United's 'divine right' to win it., There was some serious bile and hatred directed towards Leeds all season, the press kept willfully predicing Leeds had 'thrown it away' after every game. Fans at away grounds all chanted 'glory glory man utd' when Leeds visited. I don't think Wilkinson gets enough credit for winning that title

Yes, in fact YNWA used to be an anthem for Leeds, but I think over time Liverpool just kind of started owning it as they play it before all their games while we play MOT. It is weird to hear watching this but it was commonly sung back in the day.

Like all Leeds fans the European title remains the ultimate dream, but as someone who missed most of the great Reviews days but experienced the 1980s decline this was the ultimate dream and other than so called glory hunting pathetic Scum and Scouser “fans” ( I include Everton as they some how stay in top flight for ever and always rolled over against their neighbours who I hate even more when it mattered): How many real fans see their club win the league in living memory.? Villa, Derby, Blackburn, Leicester to a lesser degree proper Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City fans who followed the last two especially through their tough times, and my club despite all their trials since. Not Spurs since the early 1960s despite all their bias press coverage and posturing and probably a bit sadder not Newcastle - albeit the behaviour of both clubs in last few days re Covid has disgusted me.. This moment will stay with me for the rest of my life. Yes the ultimate would have been for O’Learys team to get past Valencia and settle that unfinished business with Bayern, but not all dreams come true - unless u r a Liverpool “fan” and even then most them don’t get what they have had or appreciate how lucky they are or even worse the prawn sandwich I “follow” football scum “fans”. The one thing Liverpool and scum fans have in common is their totally unpleasant assumption and expectations of the right to win. All of them have no class or understanding of what it is to be real football fan that misery and disappointment is normal and what the game is about most of the time, but that them makes when you do win all the better. Life is like that you shouldn’t get great experiences and possessions all the time, too many sweets make you sick. When the great things do come along you appreciate and enjoy them more. Leeds have gave me the feel of my team winning the title I don’t give a sh+t it wasn’t the premiership it was for the best team in England. Thank you Leeds United for that.

Leeds were worthy champions a terrific side. Beat Liverpool in the Charity shield too that year. But they were no match for Glasgow Rangers who really were one of the best teams in Europe at that time.

Leeds completely deserved to win the league that year, I'm a Manchester City fan, and I remember beating Leeds 4-0 late on in the season and all my rag mates thanking me, and they still couldn't win it, so fair play to Leeds, but why the fuck are the crowd singing that awful bindipping song at the end?
